Poker Face Season 2 Premiere Date and Teaser Trailer Released by Peacock

Natasha Lyonne’s Charlie Cale will solve more cases on Poker Face Season 2, premiering in May. 

The mystery-of-the-week series returns with a three-episode premiere on Thursday, May 8, on Peacock, per Deadline. The highly-anticipated, 12-episode season will then release new episodes every Thursday.

Poker Face‘s first season, which debuted with four episodes in January 2023, earned four Emmy Award nominations. Lyonne received a nomination for Best Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

Judith Light won Outstanding Guest Actress In A Comedy Series for her performance as Irene Smothers on Poker Face Season 1 Episode 5, “Time of the Monkey.”

As previously reported, Peacock renewed the show for Season 2 in February 2023 — about halfway through Season 1’s 10-episode run.

The teaser trailer for the new season teases many of Poker Face‘s latest guest stars. Some of whom include Katie Holmes, John Mulaney, John Cho, Cynthia Erivo, Giancarlo Esposito, Melanie Lynskey, Justin Theroux, Taylor Schilling, Kumail Nanjiani, Awkwafina, and Cliff “Method Man” Smith.

“Charlie Cale is back on the run, and in Season 2 we’ve taken her journey to the next level one murder mystery at a time,” co-creators Rian Johnson and Lyonne said in a statement, per TV Line.

“From minor league baseball to big box retail, from funeral homes to alligator farms and even a grade school talent show, Charlie navigates her crime solving existential road-trip with deadpan wit, human empathy, and her signature uncanny lie-detecting ability,” Johnson and Lyonne added.

The Poker Face teaser trailer shows Charlie hitting the road “with her Plymouth Barracuda and with every stop encounters a new cast of characters and strange crimes she can’t help but solve,” per the show’s logline.

Charlie does so even when she’s dodging bullets seconds after asking, “What am I even running from, right?”

Poker Face Season 2 started filming in July 2024, with Tony Tost taking over as showrunner from Nora and Lilla Zuckerman.

Tost celebrated the news by sharing a photo on Instagram with the caption, “First day of filming season two of Poker Face. Still counting my blessings that I’m getting to step in and help make a new season of one of my favorite shows.”
