Ghosts Season 4 Episode 15 Review: The Bachelorette Party
There’s no such thing as flying too close to the sun where Ghosts is concerned.
Ghosts Season 4 Episode 15, “The Bachelorette Party,” ventures outside its comfort zone to give us two beloved guest stars, a Sas serenade, and death by faulty parachute.
Safe to say, this sitcom is killing it this season!
Stripper Down!

Ghosts shows us if you want to end the season on a high note, you can’t just wait for the perfect storyline to fall from the sky. Sometimes, you must strap a faulty parachute on a stripper and make it happen yourself.
This silly, goofy comedy really has us rooting for this poor stripper to die.
Of course, Chris has to perish in the most violent and horrific way possible, plummeting through the restaurant’s roof to an “It’s Raining Men” strip tease. It is becoming clear that the premise’s appreciation for dark humor has become a terrifying tool for turning this show on its head.
The running joke that Woodstone exists on cursed ground is casually poked at in moments like this, as we see the stripper nearly escape death only to be pulled back into its grasp when he returns. The only niche funnier than deadly parachute accidents is ancient curses, and I fear Ghosts knows this.
It is a testament to how well this show has embraced death as a catalyst and comedy tool that we end this episode giddy to see if the dinosaur-loving stripper meets a deadly end.

It’s not personal, Chris. We just love you so much and want you to stay on the property forever so you can date a captain with a fetish for dinosaur-clicking sounds.
Kudos to Deniz Akdeniz for bringing this guest star to life with such sincere likeability and comedic timing that the thought of keeping his loveable stripper alive and safe off the property seemed like a waste.
I hope Ghosts utilizes ghost Chris better than Carol, especially with Akdeniz pulling double duty on High Potential. There are only so many spirits who can disappear for significant periods to have sex in the shed before we start to take notice.
And this is one character whose energy and zaniness mean his lack of presence could harm the story.
That said, there are so many pros to inducting Chris into the afterlife gang. It opens up an opportunity for more romantic and platonic pairings. With this ensemble, any chance to add to the rich character work and dynamics they are developing is tantalizing.
Not to mention, Sam and the ghosts are so smitten with him that this is one ghost they are eager to have around for once.
Serenading the Bride

There’s much to love about this well-timed return of Alicia, Alberta’s angelic-voiced descendant.
Woodstone needs to advertise hosting specialty events more because, between the work retreat and this bachelorette party, any excuse to break the usual routine and decorate the mansion is welcome.
The same can be said for Sas’ ghost power and its casual extension of these special occasions. By slipping into dreams, we get new sets, new Sas looks, and, in this case, confirmation Sas can sing!
The cherry on top of this cake is seeing so many new components elevate what is a tried and true formula: the ghosts decide to scheme despite it never going for them, and then, surprise, it does not go well.

It’s exceptionally clever to turn a common trope of the no-good musician abandoning his woman for fame on its head by revealing Alberta was actually that musician.
Plus, it is a huge relief to finally have Alberta use her power to serenade through the veil to communicate with Alicia.
You do not want to know how many times I have yelled at my TV for her to do this throughout the series. Wait until she masters communicating with livings through the Alexa — our girl will be unstoppable!
It is a very organic and sweet way to incorporate another duet song number into the episode without feeling gimmicky.
Any time we can welcome Alicia back to Woodstone is a treat because her presence always accompanies a beautiful aura of kindness and confidence that echos everything we already love about Alberta.
