Ghosts Season 5 Episode 14, “The Water Heater,” says goodbye to one of the original inhabitants of Woodstone — the beloved basement water heater.
The heater has been a staple of this series since the pilot, and a long-cherished source of entertainment for the basement ghosts.
As Isaac prepares to make his final case for Ghost Representative candidate before the basement ghosts vote, Mark delivers the news that the heater has bit the dust.
The upheaval of the ancient heater could throw a wrench (literally) in Isaac’s plans.
Acting fast, he forces Sam to help organize a proper funeral for the water heater to keep himself in the good graces of the grieving basement ghosts.
With that totally normal ghost task underway, Sam enlists the help of another living to watch the ghosts. And, much to our delight, Kyle stuck around for a few extra days.
But to his misfortune, Bela and Sas are in the throes of their fling and eager to use Kyle’s ghost-seeing abilities to communicate outside of dreams.
Kyle declines to be a “ghost translator” for Sas on his double date with Bela, Alberta, and Pete. Alas, just like Sam, he soon caves and agrees to be the fifth wheel on their ghost double date.
Sam and Jay try to replace their broken water heater, but Isaac turns the upgrade into a campaign issue in his bid to represent the basement ghosts. Meanwhile, Kyle (Ben Feldman) attempts to make Bela jealous by pretending he’s dating Hetty
