It’s been over a month since the Elsbeth winter finale, but our favorite free spirit is back with more shenanigans on Elsbeth Season 2 Episode 9, “Unalive and Well.”
He is the judge who Elsbeth figured out actually murdered the victim in that case, even if she couldn’t prove it.
Not one to let a murderer get away, Elsbeth continued to investigate the case to try and prove the judge was guilty. Something that got her put directly in his crosshairs.
The episode ends with a gleeful Crawford watching a News report that names Elsbeth as one of the lawyers in the Van Ness divorce case. This will have huge consequences for Elsbeth’s life, career, reputation, and, perhaps most upsettingly, her relationships with Wagner and Kaya.
Viewers didn’t see Crawford leak any information to the press, but his gleeful reaction suggests he might have had something to do with it. This, of course, sets up some dangerous stakes for Elsbeth during the second half of the season if she keeps investigating him.
The battle with Judge Crawford and the ongoing fallout from the Van Ness divorce case will almost certainly play a significant part in the rest of the season. There are, however, no hints as to any developments about either of those things in the preview material for “Unalive and Well.”
Instead, we glimpse Elsbeth’s newest case, which takes on the wellness industry and has guest star Eric McCormack as Elsbeth’s newest entitled suspect.
How do you think the revelation about the Van Ness case will impact Elsbeth and Kaya’s relationship? What other things do you think Judge Crawford might have in store for Elsbeth?
