It’s the beginning of the end for the 126. 9-1-1: Lone Star will come to an end with Season 5 on FOX.

The Rob Lowe-led first responders drama returns for its final season on Monday, September 23, at 8/7c. 9-1-1: Lone Star‘s 12-episode final season is expected to end in early 2025.

News about the show’s fifth season has gradually come out since last year.

In May 2023, FOX renewed the spinoff series for its fifth season, canceling the mothership series 9-1-1. The latter moved to ABC for its seventh season and received an early Season 8 renewal.

By November 2023, FOX announced that 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 wouldn’t premiere until Fall 2024. The series appeared in the network’s Fall lineup in May 2024 and received a September premiere date for its long-awaited season in July 2024.

Speculation around 9-1-1: Lone Star ending swirled in the meantime. In May 2024, Deadline exclusively reported that Sierra McClain had exited the series after being a series regular for all of its previous seasons. McClain portrayed the 9-1-1 operator and the firefighter Judd’s wife, Grace Ryder.

Deadline made the news official, reporting that the series won’t move to ABC like its predecessor. Instead, there is a chance for another spinoff series in a new city, like Las Vegas. 9-1-1 is set in Los Angeles, California, and 9-1-1: Lone Star takes place in Austin, Texas.
