When Does ‘Fire Country’ Return For Season 2?

Fire Country

The CBS firefighter drama Fire Country will return for its second season on Friday, February 16th at 9/8c. Viewers will be able to watch the series on both CBS and Paramount+. It’s likely that Fire Country Season 2 will have around 11-13 episodes.

Fire Country stars Max Thieriot as Bode Donovan, a young convict seeking redemption and a shortened prison sentence by joining a prison release firefighting program in Northern California. Through this program, he and other inmates are partnered with elite firefighters to extinguish massive, unpredictable wildfires across the region.

To complicate matters, Bode is assigned to the program in his rural hometown, where he essentially burned down everything in his life five years prior. Now, he’s reconnecting with family in some complicated ways.

Fire Country was an immediate hit both with network viewers and streaming viewers through Paramount+. It was renewed for a second season in January, only a few months after the series premiere.

“It’s pretty remarkable to see a new series resonate like this with both broadcast and streaming audiences right out of the gate,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. “Fire Country has so many appealing entry points for the audience. It combines high-stakes action with small-town charm, mystery and romance, and a family franchise at its core. We’re blessed to have an incredible team in front of and behind the camera led by amazing producers and writers and an exceptionally talented cast.”

Fire Country Season 1 ended with some major reveals — a lot more questions. A major confession from Bode and a secret child are only the tip of the iceberg. Needless to say, the long wait for Season 2 has been excruciating!

In addition to Thierot, Fire Country stars Billy Burke, Kevin Alejandro, Diane Farr, Stephanie Arcila, Jordan Calloway, and Jules Latimer. The series has also added Rafael de le Fuente to its cast for Season 2.

Executive Producers for Fire Country include Tony Phelan, Joan Rater, Tia Napolitano, Max Thieriot, Jerry Bruckheimer, and KristieAnne Reed.

The series is inspired by Max Thieriot’s experiences growing up in Northern California fire country.

Fire Country Season 2 premieres Friday, February 16th at 9/8c on CBS, after the season premiere of S.W.A.T.

In the meantime, you can watch all episodes of Fire Country Season 1 on Paramount+.
