FBI’s Shantel VanSanten to Join ‘FBI: Most Wanted’ Season 5
Special Agent Nina Chase is coming back to the FBI Universe.
Deadline reports that Shantel VanSanten will reprise her role on FBI: Most Wanted Season 5 instead of the mothership series on which she usually appears. As announced by CBS last week, FBI, FBI: Most Wanted, and FBI: International will debut their new seasons on Tuesday, February 13, beginning at 8/7c.
VanSanten made her debut on the procedural drama on FBI Season 4 Episode 17, “One Night Stand.” She has recurred on more than a dozen episodes of the CBS drama since, including the shared universe’s first three-show crossover.

TV Line reports that VanSanten’s Chase joined FBI‘s team to fill in for Missy Peregrym’s Agent Maggie Bell after she was exposed to sarin gas in the line of duty.
VanSanten joins FBI: Most Wanted‘s Fugitive Task Force after the announcement that Alexa Davalos will not be returning as Special Agent Kristin Gaine for Season 5. Davalos’s exit isn’t the first for the CBS drama; Julian McMahon, Kellan Lutz, and Miguel Gomez left FBI: Most Wanted during Season 3.
Dylan McDermott joined the Fugitive Task Force as Supervisory Special Agent Remy Scott on FBI: Most Wanted Season 3 Episode 17, “Covenant.” Meanwhile, Edwin Hodge joined as Special Agent Ray Cannon on FBI: Most Wanted Season 4 Episode 1, “Iron Pipeline.”
VanSanten joining the team will be an on-screen reunion for her and Hodge. While VanSanten was a series regular on the teen drama, Hodge appeared as Will Bennett on One Tree Hill Season 8 Episode 3, “The Space in Between,” in 2010.

Hodge recently had a different, on-screen reunion with his One Tree Hill co-stars when Hilarie Burton Morgan and Bethany Joy Lenz reunited with Sophia Bush on CBS’ Good Sam Season 1 Episode 8, “Keep Talking.”
FBI: Most Wanted also stars Roxy Sternberg as Special Agent Sheryll Barnes and Keisha Castle-Hughes as Special Agent Hana Gibson.
The series from Dick Wolf “focuses on the Fugitive Task Force, an elite unit that relentlessly pursues and captures the notorious criminals on the Bureau’s Most Wanted list,” per its official synopsis.
Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, produces FBI: Most Wanted in association with CBS Studios. Dick Wolf, David Hudgins, Ken Girotti, Terry Miller, Arthur W. Forney, and Peter Jankowski executive produce the series.
