Good Sam Stages One Tree Hill Reunion, Hilarie Burton and Bethany Joy Lenz to Guest Star
One of TV’s most iconic trios will make a comeback when Hilarie Burton and Bethany Joy Lenz guest star on Good Sam, starring Sophia Bush.
The women became fast friends as co-stars on The CW’s beloved coming-of-age drama One Tree Hill. Bush’s Brooke Davis, Burton’s Peyton Sawyer, and Lenz’s Haley James Scott had the greatest friendships on their show.
It spanned high school, college, early adulthood, and all the highs and lows that come with those formative years. They went through almost every stage of life together, and the actresses’ friendship is just as epic.
Bush, Burton, and Lenz recently reunited via the iHeartRadio podcast, “Drama Queens,” where the trio revisits every episode of One Tree Hill with behind-the-scenes stories and thoughtful commentary.
The episode of Good Sam on which Burton and Lenz will guest star started shooting today in Toronto.
CBS revealed Burton and Lenz will play sisters, Gretchen and Amy Taylor, respectively, who cross paths with Dr. Sam Griffith (Bush) when Amy is admitted as a patient at Detroit’s Lakeshore Sentinel Hospital.
Additional details will be announced at a later date.
This collaboration is an organic extension of Bush, Burton, and Lenz’s personal and professional friendship that will surely make the trio’s Good Sam episode a must-watch.
Bush already took to Twitter to celebrate the occasion and her ability to bring Burton and Lenz to the CBS medical drama because of her producing position.
It’s genuinely a celebratory occasion because the good vibes are palpable through the photo above. Long-time One Tree Hill fans will instantly know that pose as the trio’s go-to. Bush even referenced that in her tweet, sharing other similar photos.
Like Bush notes and One Tree Hill fans will know, Bush, Burton, and Lenz’s friendship is the kind of love that lasts always and forever.
Good Sam centers on a gifted heart surgeon (Bush’s Sam) who excels in her new leadership role as chief of surgery after her renowned boss and father “Griff” falls into a coma. When he wakes up, she has to supervise Griff (Jason Isaacs) and fight to keep the job she earned.
