Mayor of Kingstown Renewed for Season 3 by Paramount+
Mayor of Kingstown will return for another season on Paramount+.
The streaming service announced that it renewed the drama, from Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillion and starring Jeremy Renner, for Season 3.
The show debuted on Paramount+ in November 2021, with Mayor of Kingstown Season 2 Episode 1, “Never Missed a Pigeon,” premiering in January 2023.
Produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions, Mayor of Kingstown added Gratiela Brancusi and Lane Garrison to its sophomore season in recurring roles.
Alongside Renner as Mike McLusky, Season 2 starred Hugh Dillon as Ian, Taylor Handley as Kyle McLusky, Emma Laird as Iris, Tobi Bamtef as Bunny, Derek Webster as Stevie, Nishi Munshi as Tracy, Hamish Allan-Headley as Robert, Aidan Gillen as Milo, and Michael Beach as Kareem.
The second outing ended with Mayor of Kingstown Season 2 Episode 10, “Little Green Ant,” in March 2023.
Paramount+ cited the show about “the McLusky family, power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan, where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry,” as “one of the top performing original dramas on the service overall and, while in season, was third only to Sheridan’s other hit series, 1923 and Tulsa King.”
Mayor of Kingstown tackles themes of systemic racism, corruption, and equality, providing “a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither,” per its synopsis.
The show is a part of Sheridan’s growing catalog of Paramount+ content, existing among 1923, 1883, Tulsa King, this year’s Special Ops: Lioness that stars Zoe Saldana and Nicole Kidman, and the upcoming series Lawmen: Bass Reeves and Land Man.
Sheridan, Dillon, Renner, Antoine Fuqua, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Dave Erickson, and Regina Corrado executive produce Mayor of Kingstown.
