The Buccaneers is coming back to TV in an Apple TV+ series!

Inspired by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Edith Wharton’s unfinished novel of the same name, the Apple TV+ drama will premiere with three episodes on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. New episodes of The Buccaneers will stream weekly, every Wednesday through the season finale on December 13.

The streaming service unveiled three first-look images at the series created by Katherine Jakeways, who also serves as an executive producer on The Buccaneers.

The Buccaneers‘ synopsis is as follows:

Girls with money, men with power. New money, old secrets. A group of fun-loving young American girls explode into the tightly corseted London season of the 1870s, kicking off an Anglo-American culture clash as the land of the stiff upper lip is infiltrated by a refreshing disregard for centuries of tradition. Sent to secure husbands and titles, the buccaneers’ hearts are set on much more than that, and saying “I do” is just the beginning …

The eight-episode drama is the second time The Buccaneers has hit the small screen. The first was BBC’s 1995 adaptation starring Carla Gugino as Nan and Mira Sorvino as Conchita.
