The Other Black Girl Trailer Released by Hulu

Something sinister is going on at Wagner Books in the first trailer for The Other Black Girl.

All ten episodes of the series will premiere on Wednesday, September 13, on Hulu.

Based on Zakiya Dalila Harris’ best-selling novel of the same name, the Hulu series follows Sinclair Daniel’s Nella as the only Black girl at an all-white publishing house, Wagner Books — until Ashleigh Murray’s Hazel is hired.

“It’s just really nice that you’re here,” Nella tells Hazel in the trailer. Upon her arrival, Hazel points out the company’s “wall of white people.” Later in the trailer, Nella says, “Wagner’s just…you’ll see.”

“But as Hazel’s star begins to rise, Nella spirals out and discovers something sinister is going on at the company,” per The Other Black Girl‘s synopsis.

That “something sinister” hits trailer around the one-minute mark when Nella is offered the job of assistant editor. Then, Nella discovers hidden cameras watching her and someone trapped in the desktop screen — and the elevator.

Nella says, “I feel like I’m completely losing my mind,” as the occurrences become more frequent.

Langston Kerman’s character eases Nella’s mind about assuming what she’s experiencing sounds like a conspiracy by saying, “Yeah, but every conspiracy about white people being whack ends up being true in, like, 20 years.”

The Other Black Girl also stars Brittany Adebumola, Hunter Parrish, Bellamy Young, Eric McCormack, and Garcelle Beauvais.

Rashida Jones, Adam Fishbach, Zakiya Dalila Harris, Jordan Reddout, Gus Hickey, Tara Duncan, and Temple Hill’s Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey are executive producers.

Jordan Reddout and Gus Hickey also serve as co-showrunners on The Other Black Girl, a Hulu original from Onyx Collective.
