Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Season 24 Episode 10 Review: Jumped In
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Season 24 Episode 10, “Jumped In,” comes back from hiatus gunning for everyone’s feelings with the constant reminder that Amanda Rollins is gone and BX9 is coming for Olivia Benson’s family.
Rollins’s exit would not be easy, but we didn’t expect to be reminded so often of it. From the chipmunk on her empty desk to Fin’s “Not as pretty as Rollins, but I’ll try my best with this emotional support thing,” it’s clear her departure isn’t easy on the squad.
Benson is once again facing the loss of a friend and a team member. How many more bodies will drop before Olivia Benson gets stability?

If dealing with the loss of Rollins wasn’t enough, Benson has to deal with a gang coming after her. Once again, fans are faced with our hero being attacked.
Yes, it makes sense that Benson’s life is in constant danger given her line of duty. But didn’t we have enough with the Lewis saga? Watching the main character be kicked on the floor isn’t what we signed up for.
However, in true Benson nature, she doesn’t let this bring her down and she continues to fight for control. Even though she is supposed to give a victim statement, she turns things around so she can work her own case.
This deal doesn’t come cheap, and Benson and her squad end up in the Bronx to solve a long list of open cases. But in even truer Benson nature, she ends up going for the most difficult (and closed) case.
As upsetting as it is that Olivia’s life is at risk once more, “Jumped In” has its own great moments that make this episode worth the watch.

Law & Order: SVU has never shied away from difficult conversations and it isn’t starting now.
The closed case the squad works on in the Bronx is giving voice to a group of deaf girls who were raped and never interviewed.
The episode does its job by discussing how difficult it is for deaf victims to get justice due to lack of interpreters in the police department. Benson knows this and that is why she taps in Lieutenant Kate Dixon.
Camryn Manheim helps make the episode more realistic by utilizing her ASL knowledge to make her character more approachable. Dixon’s presence helps make the victims feel safe and heard in a situation that had previously disregarded them.
At the same time, “Jumped In” touches upon the multiple occasions in which the wrong person is in jail for a crime they didn’t commit. As glad as we are the real perp is caught, we are left distraught at the thought of the many cases that remain open.

The introduction of Noah’s half-brother on Law & Order: SVU Season 24 Episode 9, “And A Trauma In A Pear Tree,” definitely helped this week’s storyline. Benson would have felt helpless if she hadn’t had the possibility to send her son to safety.
After so many decades of watching Olivia want a family, it is nice to see her have that. To have a son she loves and a village of people who have her back when it comes to raising him.
The same village she has in the NYPD, which she will need if she wants to put an end to BX9. This means the re-introduction of Duarte with whom she didn’t get along in the past.
Duarte is the complete opposite of Benson in his policing, but they both care deeply. It will be interesting to watch them pair up to solve the case, particularly when it hits too close to home.
This will probably give Muncy the opportunity to shine again. After her mistake on “And A Trauma In A Pear Tree,” it is obvious that she is second guessing herself. Will she be able to prove her worth now?
It might be easier now that Benson ordered her to lose the blazer.

The BX9 won’t go away easily, and Benson knows this. She will have to fight her boss and her own demons to get the justice she deserves.
Hopefully, she will rely on the people around her and not try to control everything as she usually does.
Law & Order: SVU will take us on a ride until this gang is finally caught, and I cannot wait to see where this ends.

Ok where was Elliot Stabler I’m this episode? Why didn’t the writers get Elliot Stabler in this episode Olivia Benson needed him not those other guys I mean Fin was fine but Elliot should of been there for Olivia when she needed him the most. I was very disappointed with the writers for not having Elliot Stabler to their for Olivia Benson especially at the hospital he should of been her special guest not that other guy. Elliot and Olivia belong together romantically.
I don’t think Benson & Stabler should be a couple. A real partnership is what they had and they should leave it there. Liv has known Elliott and his dead wife since the beginning and I find it in poor taste to suggest a romantic connection for these two. Not every relationship on television has to lead to a sexual involvement. The bond they had as partners and friends shouldn’t be diminished by a need to create a new relationship where it doesn’t have to be. Olivia has become a strong, independent women and to weaken that makes her look sad and pitiful. That’s not the Olivia we love.
Get Muncey off the show. Bring back Rawlins!
