Snap Twice for Wednesday’s Season 2 Renewal at Netflix
There is more mayhem coming for Wednesday Addams and Nevermore Academy.
Per TV Line, Netflix has renewed Wednesday, the series that has become a global phenomenon, for Season 2.
Deadline reports Wednesday “crossed the 1B hours viewed mark – only the third show to do that on Netflix – in less than a month and overtook Dahmer to become the second most-watched U.S. show behind season four of Stranger Things.”

Wednesday comes from Smallville creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, who serve as showrunners, executive producers, and writers. Tim Burton is also an executive producer and director on the show.
Other executive producers are Steve Stark (Toluca Pictures), Andrew Mittman (1.21 Entertainment), Kevin Miserocchi (Tee and Charles Addams Foundation), Kayla Alpert, Jonathan Glickman (Glickmania), Gail Berman, Tommy Harper, and Kevin Lafferty.
As Netflix describes it, the show “is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy.”

At the boarding school, Wednesday tries to master her emerging psychic abilities, only for a monstrous killing spree to hit the town. Not to mention, the titular character gets wrapped up in a 25-year-old supernatural mystery that involves her parents.
Jenna Ortega stars as Wednesday Addams, while Catherine Zeta-Jones joins as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, and Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams.
Gwendoline Christie comes to Wednesday as Nevermore Academy’s Principal Larissa Weems, who has a complicated history with the Addams family, as does Jamie McShane’s Sheriff Galpin in the small local town of Jericho, Vermont.

Wednesday’s new Nevermore classmates include Percy Hynes White as Xavier Thorpe, Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair, Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay, Naomi J Ogawa as Yoko Tanaka, Moosa Mostafa as Eugene Ottinger, and Georgie Farmer as Ajax Petropolus.
Riki Lindhome stars as Dr. Valerie Kinbott, while Christina Ricci, who starred as Wednesday Addams in 1991 hit movie The Addams Family and its sequel Addams Family Values, appears as Marilyn Thornhill.
The debut season, which premiered on Netflix in November, reveals that Hunter Doohan’s Tyler Thornhill is the hyde that has been terrorizing the town under Thornhill’s influence, who wishes to use the supernatural to revive Crackstone and destroy Wednesday and the rest of Nevermore Academy.

Of course, Wednesday and her friends save the day, but Netflix’s cleverly marketed announcement video teases that Season 1 is only the beginning of this show.
Netflix’s announcement video nods to the show’s immense popularity on TikTok. The video is set to a sped-up version of Lady Gaga’s “Bloody Mary,” which is featured in countless videos of fans recreating Wednesday’s dance moves from the show.
Ortega’s voice-over blends dialogue from Wednesday with a special thanks to the show’s fans. “Over the past few weeks, I’ve been hunted, haunted, and mimicked millions of times across the internet. It’s been pure torture. Thank you,” she stated.
