Derek Haas Exiting One Chicago Franchise and Wolf Entertainment
Chicago Fire co-creator and co-showrunner Derek Haas is leaving the One Chicago Franchise, as well as Wolf Entertainment, according to an exclusive report from Variety. Haas is also currently the co-showrunner for FBI: International.
Haas will exit the company at the end of this season in order to focus on new endeavors.

“Although I am leaving Wolf Entertainment next year to focus on creating new shows, I’m entirely committed to delivering amazing episodes of ‘Chicago Fire’ and ‘FBI: International’ through the end of the current seasons,” Haas said in a statement.
“I learned everything I know about storytelling, pace, characters, production values, and hiring the best cast, crews, and staffs from Dick Wolf and Peter Jankowski, and as hard as it is to leave a place you love and have called home for over a decade, including incredible support from Universal Television, NBC and CBS, I look forward to building my own brand in entertainment,” Haas continued.

In addition to Chicago Fire, Haas helped to develop the other two series in the One Chicago Universe, Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med. He currently serves as executive producer for all three. He is also an executive producer for FBI: International.
The news of Derek Haas’ departure follows several cast exits and announcements from the One Chicago franchise.
These include Jesse Lee Soffer from Chicago P.D., Brian Tee, Guy Lockhard, and Asjha Cooper from Chicago Med. Jesse Spencer also exited Chicago Fire last season.
