Dead to Me Season 3 Trailer Released by Netflix

Dead to Me, News

The only way out is together for Jen and Judy in the trailer for Dead to Me‘s third and final season.

The ten-episode season debuts on Netflix on Thursday, November 17. Per Season 3’s logline, “In the aftermath of yet another hit and run, both women receive shocking news and are ready to risk their lives for a friendship that’s above the law.”

TV Line notes that Dead to Me‘s final season “…shut down for five months in the wake of Christina Applegate’s multiple sclerosis diagnosis in the summer of 2021.”

Applegate was nominated for Oustanding Lead Actress in a Comedy for her role as Jen Harding at the 71st Primetime Emmy® Awards in 2019. The actress received the same nomination in 2020, alongside Linda Cardellini, for her role as Judy Hale.

That same year, Dead to Me was nominated for Oustanding Casting for a Comedy Series and Oustanding Comedy series.

The trailer showcases that the acclaimed dramedy returns with more twists and turns in its final season.

In September, James Marsden unveiled the first sneak peek at Dead to Me Season 3 at Netflix’s global event, TUDUM.

The new, two-minute trailer picks up with Jen and Judy after Season 2’s cliffhanger of Judy and Jen being the victims of a hit-and-run.

But, of course, Jen and Judy don’t know that a drunken Ben was behind the wheel of the car that hit Jen’s brand-new car.

In Dead to Me fashion, that isn’t the only problem on Jen and Judy’s plate as the show embarks on its final season.

As the best friends recover from the car accident, they come under investigation when Steve’s body is found. Even as Judy grows apprehensive, Jen says, “There is always a way out,” but the trailer pushes that theory to its breaking point.

As Netflix’s TUDUM so eloquently puts it, “But just because they’re both alive (even if Jen is in a neck brace), that doesn’t mean their futures are guaranteed. Will the skeletons in their closets stay hidden? Or have Jen and Judy spent the last two seasons digging their own graves?”
