Dan Levy and Six Others Join ‘Sex Education’ Season 4
After multiple cast exits from the Netflix dramedy, Schitt’s Creek‘s Dan Levy and six others join Sex Education Season 4.
Alongside Levy, Thaddea Graham (Doctor Who), Marie Reuther (Kamikaze), and newcomers Felix Mufti, Anthony Lexa, Alexandra James, and Imani Yahshua join as series regulars.

The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reported the news, sharing that details about the six other new characters’ are unavailable. Alternatively, Levy will portray Thomas, Maeve’s U.S. tutor at her Ivy League college.
Netflix’s TUDUM confirmed that Maeve studies at Wallace University and describes Levy’s Thomas Molloy as a “cult author.”
Maeve’s decision to go to America is one of Sex Education Season 3’s biggest reveals since it comes on the heels of Maeve and Otis finally admitting their mutual feelings for each other.
The pair agreed that this time apart wasn’t a permanent goodbye but a “see you soon.” Levy’s casting confirms that the coming-of-age series will follow at least some of Maeve’s time in the United States.

Created by Laurie Nunn, Sex Education Season 4 follows the closure of Moordale Secondary School at the end of the third season.
According to Netflix’s TUDUM, “the students are navigating new territory at the high-tech and progressive Cavendish Sixth Form College. It’s every health and wellness nut’s dream with yoga on the lawn, a strong sustainability vibe, and even a rival sex therapist on campus.”
The established sex therapist “isn’t the only thing bothering Otis, as he’s also juggling a long-distance relationship with Maeve.”
One of the photos Netflix released with the news sees Otis and Ruby together in Otis’ home, so there may be hope for the exes to mend at least their friendship.

Alongside Emma Mackey, Asa Butterfield, and Mimi Keene, Sex Education Season 4 will also see the return of Gillian Anderson, Ncuti Gatwa, Aimee Lou Wood, Connor Swindells, Kedar Williams-Stirling, Mimi Keene, George Robinson, Chinenye Ezeudu, Dua Saleh, Alistair Petrie, and Samantha Spiro.
As previously reported, Patricia Allison and Simone Ashley will not return as Ola Nyman and Olivia Hanan, respectively.
Tanya Reynolds, who played Lily Iglehart since Season 1, recently told Radio Times that she wouldn’t return to the series.

“It’s just the natural progression of these shows – when you have such big ensemble casts and so many characters, I think you have to let a few older characters go to make way for newer ones, which is absolutely the right thing, the way it should happen,” Reynolds stated.
Not soon after, TV Line reported that Rakhee Thakar, who played the teacher Emily Sands, expressed her pride in the show to the U.K.’s Daily Star Sunday and revealed, “I’m not part of the new series. I can’t really talk about why.”
The Sex Education departures will be noticeable, but the new school allows the series to introduce a new class.
Netflix’s TUDUM reported that filming is underway, while The Hollywood Reporter added that it is taking place in Wales, U.K., through year’s end.
