San Diego Comic-Con 2022 Preview: Ghosts, Severance, Teen Wolf: The Movie
After a two-year hiatus, San Diego Comic-Con is returning to celebrate the latest and greatest TV with cast members, showrunners, and fellow fans.
Programming includes The Walking Dead‘s final Hall-H bow, an Apple TV+ takeover, and a new era for the supernatural genre with Teen Wolf: The Movie and Vampire Academy joining veteran attendee What We Do in the Shadows.
Check out our preview for a sample of what television-related panels and pop-up experiences you can expect to see at this year’s event!
Apple TV+ Takeover

Apple TV+ is visiting Comic-Con for the first time, and the streamer is bringing almost all of its original programming.
Severance, For All Mankind, and Mythic Quest will host panels with showrunners and cast members in attendance. A “Storytellers of Apple TV+” panel will also give fans an inside look at series like See, Foundation, and Invasion.
The “Inside Severance” panel includes executive producer Ben Stiller, creator Dan Erickson, and cast members Adam Scott, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Dichen Lachman, and Jen Tullock.
“The Players of Mythic Quest” panel will feature creator Megan Ganz and cast members David Hornsby, Charlotte Nicdao, Danny Pudi, Imani Hakim, Jessie Ennis, and Ashly Burch.
“The Alternate World of For All Mankind” discusses the fantasy show’s third season with cast members Joel Kinnaman, Shantel VanSanten, Jodi Balfour, Sonya Walger, Krys Marshall, Cynthy Wu, Casey Johnson, Coral Peña, and Wrenn Schmidt.
Severance fans also have the opportunity to get “severed” and enter Lumon Industries. The activation takes “employees” through their first day on the severed floor, showcasing multiple set locations like the iconic boardroom and MDR.
Comedy Comes to Comic-Con

San Diego Comic-Con is bringing the laughs with a “spirited” panel from television’s #1 new comedy, Ghosts, and never-before-seen footage.
The entire ghost gang will attend, including Rose McIver, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Brandon Scott Jones, Richie Moriarty, Danielle Pinnock, Asher Grodman, Román Zaragoza, Sheila Carrasco, Rebecca Wisocky, and Devan Chandler Long. Executive producers Joe Port and Joe Wiseman will also stop by.
As part of the “Summer of Ghosts” campaign, fans can also visit Pinecone Trooper Pete’s “Friend Zone.”
The interactive pop-up honors scout leader Pete with campsite snacks and a “scare-free” archery activation. There will be branded camp mugs, whistles, sunscreen, bandanas up for grabs, and physics to help connect visitors with the Great Beyond.
Determined to haunt San Diego all week, Ghosts will host a “special screening” to pay tribute to the comedy’s living and undead characters.

Class is back in session for the cast of Abbott Elementary, who will be hosting a live, virtual panel for fans at the convention.
Star and executive producer Quinta Brunson will virtually discuss the hit comedy ahead of Season 2. She’s joined by stars Tyler James Williams, Janelle James, Chris Perfetti, Lisa Ann Walter, William Stanford Davis, and Sheryl Lee Ralph, as well as executive producers Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker.
Fans eager to visit Abbott Elementary will get their wish too with “New Teacher Dis-Orientation,” an interaction where attendees can explore set recreations and earn staff credentials. Sets include Principal Ava’s desk and Janine’s classroom.
The pop-up features fan art, episode screenings, giveaways, and live performances from professional step dance crews and a double dutch rope team.
And visitors can donate to teachers in need through curated Scholastic wish lists.
Werewolves, Vampires, Oh My!

The supernatural genre is taking over our TVs once again, so it’s only right it takes over Comic-Con too.
Teen Wolf will triumphantly return to Hall-H for its upcoming movie. The panel will is hosted by series creator Jeff Davis and cast members Tyler Posey and Tyler Hoechlin as they preview Teen Wolf: The Movie and look back on the iconic MTV series.
Not to let the teen wolves have all the fun, Vampire Academy will ensure attendees catch a glimpse of the new Peacock adaptation. Showrunners Julie Plec and Marguerite MacIntyre will join series regulars Sisi Stringer, Daniela Nieves, Kieron Moore, and Andre Dae Kim for a Q&A session and an exclusive first look at the series.
And vampire enthusiasts can rejoice because new content is on the rise!
In a suspenseful panel, the EPs and cast of Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire adaptation discuss the process of updating the property for a modern audience, share tales from filming in New Orleans and debut the AMC show’s official trailer.
Hall-H Regulars

It wouldn’t be Comic-Con without The Walking Dead, although not for much longer.
AMC’s long-running undead series will take its final bow at this year’s convention with a Hall-H farewell panel. Cast and creatives plan to discuss the remaining episodes of this decade-spanning drama with a trailer reveal.
The flagship show will pass its torch to Tales of the Walking Dead, a new Walking Dead Universe series, with its own Hall-H panel. The creators share their thoughts on single-episode storytelling, while the cast share stories from the set.
Marvel Studios will also return to Hall-H with more Disney+ TV programming than ever. While details of Kevin Feige’s presentation are top secret, fans may get a closer look at the upcoming She-Hulk series or Daredevil reboot.
Other programming includes Paper Girls, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, What We Do in the Shadows panels, a House of the Dragon experience that transports fans to Targaryen-ruled Westeros, and an interactive The Gray Man training program.
