iCarly: iGuess Everyone Just Hates Me Now / iObject, Lewbert! (Season 2 Episode 1-2)
iCarly Season 2 Episodes 1 and 2, “iGuess Everyone Just Hates Me Now” and “iObject, Lewbert!” bring back the classic comradery and perfectly timed humor that fans love. The banter between Carly, Spencer, Freddie, Harper, and Millicent is unmatched and it lands well with both millennial and Gen Z viewers.
The web show, although a little modernized with less tech and more streaming, remains the core of iCarly, but the heart really comes from the characters themselves. There is a lightness and nostalgic feel here, as well as the ability to delve into deeper topics.
Without being super in your face, episodes 1 and 2 of iCarly effortlessly blend humor with real life.

Picking up shortly after the events of Webicon, “iGuess Everyone Just Hates Me Now” reveals that Beau and Wes have joined forces in a web show of their own solely to whine and moan about the fact that Carly didn’t reciprocate feelings for either of them (boys, am I right?).
In an attempt to rectify the haters as well as the boys, Carly apologizes and quickly claims to already be dating someone else which is obviously false. Who could that special someone be; none other than Freddie of course?
Freddie falls into the charade easily, but it makes me wonder if the show will ever give “Creddie” a shot at a real and honest relationship. I don’t think anyone would be mad about that choice.
“iGuess Everyone Just Hates Me Now” shows its adult side when Freddie is caught kissing someone else on a livestream, and everyone starts attacking once again. Carly explains the whole thing was fake and explains how she shouldn’t be demonized for not feeling certain feelings to pacify a man, or men in this case (go girl!).
It’s an exploration into the double standard in dating, and it gives a newfound air of confidence about what Season 2 is going to bring. I find myself still laughing out loud for several moments.

Harper, Spencer, and Millicent are most often the main reason I become hysterical throughout each episode. While they are all navigating new paths of their own with Harper exploring a long distance relationship, Spencer promoting Freddie’s new app and Millicent coming into her own as a teenager, they all deliver one-liners flawlessly.
Spencer makes us feel like we never left the original iCarly aside from the fact that he’s super rich. He even pretends to be a lawyer again while trying to help Carly face her past with Lewbert.
It was interesting to see Harper’s perspective as an outsider in iObject, Lewbert! since she didn’t have the same relationship to these characters that Carly, Freddie, and Spencer had years ago. She doesn’t stick out in an awkward way and Episode 2 feels like a nice walk down memory lane.
iCarly executes character cameos so well. “iObject, Lewbert!” features Lewbert (obviously), Gibby’s beloved younger brother Guppy as well as Spencer’s former tormenter, Chuck, and while the trial was far from any reality, I love seeing the comedy everyone brings to the table.

The combination of adult humor with the corniness and energy of these characters is not easy, yet iCarly nails it every time. I can’t wait to see where Season 2 will go now that everyone has found their footing.
Stray Thoughts:
- Mrs. Benson is still crazy, but she honestly cracks me up.
- I love the frequent use of “bestie” in Episode 2 because I feel like I call everyone bestie and I enjoyed that generational touch.
- “Creddie” should ultimately be end game.
