Roswell, New Mexico Season 3 Episode 1, “Hands,” jumps one year ahead to find Max, Isobel, and Michael trying to figure out the stranger in the cave’s motives. Plus, the season premiere catches up with Liz as she’s setting into her life in Los Angeles.
The promo videos bring light to the fact that Max is dying, again. It wouldn’t be shocking if this has something to do with what his doppelganger Jones did to him in the Season 2 finale.
For being such a romantic alien, Max is really great at harboring his feelings if it means he thinks he’s doing best by the people in his life. This translates directly to Max pretending he’s over Liz, again, and refraining from telling the most important people in his life that he’s dying.
As for Liz, Los Angeles appears to be treating her well. But for how long? Kyle will pay her a visit at some point in the premiere episode. If the conversation circles around to Max’s condition, hopefully Liz can offer advice and assistance without sacrificing the work she’s doing to prioritize herself.
This whole putting herself first things looks like it’s working in her favor and ours because it means we’re getting another The Vampire Diaries universe reunion. Heath, the new guy in Liz’s life, is played by Steven Krueger who also appeared on The Originals as a werewolf named Josh.
And speaking of potential romance, the cast featurette below shows Alex and Forrest as a happy couple after their big kiss at the Wild Pony. This doesn’t bode well for Malex right now, but it does mean that we’ll get to see a jealous Michael pine for Alex.
Who doesn’t love some good tension that builds up to an epic reunion?
