Swamp Thing is captured and experimented upon on Swamp Thing Season 1 Episode 9, “The Anatomy Lesson.” Of course Swamp Thing’s life is in even more danger than normal in the penultimate episode of the season.

Jason Woodrue experiments on Swamp Thing after he’s taken to a Conclave facility. Woodrue makes an incredible discovery in the process.

Meanwhile, Abby and Liz track down the secret facility to let Swamp Thing go. There’s no way around a heated confrontation with those people meeting face-to-face under those circumstances.

Hopefully Abby and Liz get there before Woodrue does any real damage with his discovery. After all, there’s no telling how Nathan Ellery and the Conclave’s invisible hand will get involved after Woodrue’s discovery.

Elsewhere, Swamp Thing finally circles around to Daniel Cassidy. He makes a fateful decision based on a possible future presented to him by the Phantom Stranger. All of that is extremely ominous, but that pairs well with Cassidy’s presence on Swamp Thing so far.

There’s also some clips in the promo video that could very well be the first time Maria Sunderland sees Avery since she believed he was killed. That will be a memorable moment for sure.

Episode description: After being captured and taken to a Conclave facility, Swamp Thing (Derek Mears) is experimented upon by Jason Woodrue (guest star Kevin Durand), who makes an incredible discovery. Meanwhile, Abby (Crystal Reed) and Liz (Maria Sten) track down the secret facility to free Swamp Thing.

Meanwhile, Daniel Cassidy (Ian Ziering) makes a fateful decision based on a possible future that the Phantom Stranger (guest star Macon Blair) shows him.

The episode was directed by Michael Goi and written by Noah Griffith & Daniel Stewart with teleplay by Mark Verheiden.
