Bridgerton Trailer: Sparks Fly Between Daphne and the Duke
It’s almost time to travel back to Regency-era London with Shondaland’s latest series, Bridgerton. Netflix has released an official trailer, giving us a glimpse at the stunning ballgowns, balls, and romance that await us on December 25.
The trailer introduces us to Daphne and the Duke and their absolutely stellar chemistry and banter. Even without the Duke proposing that they, essentially, fake date (favorite trope alert!), I would be shipping them anyway from the moment they collided into each other at the ball.
Their declarations of “I am anything but interested in you” aren’t fooling us. Have you fallen for these two yet?

The trailer also gives us some voiceovers of Lady Whistledown’s society papers, allowing us to see just how much influence they have over everyone. Whatever Lady Whistledown writes can make or break a person’s reputation and social standing, that much is clear.
Series description: From Shondaland and Creator Chris Van Dusen, Bridgerton follows Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor), the eldest daughter of the powerful Bridgerton family as she makes her debut onto Regency London’s competitive marriage market. Hoping to follow in her parent’s footsteps and find a match sparked by true love, Daphne’s prospects initially seem to be unrivaled. But as her older brother begins to rule out her potential suitors, the high society scandal sheet written by the mysterious Lady Whistledown casts aspersions on Daphne. Enter the highly desirable and rebellious Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page), committed bachelor and the catch of the season for the debutantes’ mamas. Despite proclaiming that they want nothing the other has to offer, their attraction is undeniable and sparks fly as they find themselves engaged in an increasing battle of wits while navigating society’s expectations for their future
