First Look at WandaVision: Disney+’s First Marvel Series

Previews, WandaVision

WandaVision will be the first Marvel series to debut on Disney+.

Initially, the series was scheduled to premiere in Spring 2021, but we’re not complaining that we’re getting it sooner. While we don’t have an official airdate yet, Disney+ has released a trailer along with a couple of images from the series.

WandaVision finds Wanda and Vision leading an idyllic sitcom life, one that is too good to be true. They’re adorable and happy together. Unfortunately, their happiness quickly leads to heartbreak as we see a couple moments where they realize that everything is not quite what it seems. Is anyone else trying to emotionally prepare for the pain that awaits us?

The trailer doesn’t show much of (what we can assume to be) the real world outside of Wanda and Vision’s sitcom life. The glimpse we do get doesn’t paint a cheery picture.

Series description: Marvel Studios presents WandaVision, a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) — two super-powered beings living idealized suburban lives — begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.

Jac Schaeffer serves as showrunner and head writer of the series. Schaeffer previously worked on the screenplays for Captain Marvel and Black Widow. Matt Shakman directs the series.
