‘Supergirl’ Set to End With Season 6
The CW is losing another superhero.
As reported by TV Line, Supergirl will end with its upcoming sixth season.
The series stars Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers/Supergirl/Kara Zor El, who follows in her famous cousin’s footsteps to become the hero of National City.
Supergirl initially premiered on CBS in 2015, and the show moved to The CW in its second season. On Supergirl Season 1 Episode 18 “World’s Finest,” Barry Allen/The Flash landed in Kara’s parallel Earth, officially ushering Supergirl into the Arrowverse.

The series’ fifth season launched Sunday night programming on The CW, where it averaged 840,000 viewers.
When we last saw Kara and friends, they saved everyone from Leviathan’s plan to kill them inside Obsidian’s virtual world. Meanwhile, Brainy shrank the gods down into a bottle, absorbing the power of the lethal force field in the process.
Of course, Lex double-crossed him, stole the bottled Gods, and began the next phase of his plan with his mother.
Viewers also saw Kara and Lena finally mend their broken friendship.

“To say it has been an honor portraying this iconic character would be a massive understatement.” Benoist posted on Instagram. “Seeing the incredible impact the show has had on young girls around the world has always left me humbled.”
“I’m so excited that we get to plan our conclusion to this amazing journey, and I cannot wait for you to see what we have in store. I promise we’re going to make it one helluva final season,” she continued.
Like all of television, production on Supergirl has been delayed by the coronavirus, but it’s set to start later this month.
Supergirl will continue to be a part of the newly branded CWverse, which includes The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman, Black Lightning, Stargirl, and Superman & Lois.
