Quiz: How Much Do You Remember About ‘Legend of the Seeker’?
As far as fun, breezy fantasy shows go, Legend of the Seeker did it as well as any.
Though it was adapted from the sword of truth series of novels by Terry Goodkind, it wasted no time in deviating from the source material and forging an identity of its own.
The book series stood at about a dozen entries at the time the show was canceled — a number which has since grown to almost double of that.
And as with pretty much every adaptation out there on TV, the audience quickly divvied up into the two usual camps — those who see the show as inferior, and those that consider the loose screen adaptation to have come off better because of the changes made in adapting it from text to screen.
As it was, Legend of the Seeker created a small but passionate fandom that put up a rabid crusade to have its home network (or any network) save it from cancellation.
Unfortunately, the business side of things won out, and shooting in the lush scenery of New Zealand’s landscapes proved too expensive for the number of viewers it was drawing in.
Regardless, in the couple of seasons we got, the creator bestowed upon us unforgettable characters that gave birth to a fervent shipping campaign and fanfictions that saw Cara paired up with everyone and everything from Kahlan and Zedd to a random peach tree in the midlands.
Not to mention one of the best-written foes-to-friends storyline in Kahlan and Cara’s friendship.
It has been a decade since this show was canceled, and as Richard, Kahlan, Zedd, and Cara traipsed through D’Hara in service of the creator and world peace, how closely were you watching?
And most importantly, how much of it do you remember now?
Take our Legend of the Seeker quiz to find out! And may the light of The Creator illuminate your choices.
