The Bachelorette Season 15 Finale Recap (Part 2)
On The Bachelorette Season 15, “Season Finale Part 2,” Hannah decides between Jed and Tyler, but life is far from perfect after that final rose.
The Bachelorette Season 15 “Season Finale Part 1” was just foreplay because the “shocking conclusion” is what everybody has been waiting for since before Luke P. left the building.
What would really be shocking is if anyone doesn’t know who Hannah chooses, or how this all ends. Kudos to you if you’ve been able to bask in a spoiler-free existence. Even host Chris Harrison has abandoned the element of surprise.
Before we get to how Hannah’s compulsive need to be in a relationship sends a very disturbing message to women everywhere, we need to get to the big proposal.

There are a lot of shots of Hannah and her final two men looking introspective. Hannah looks back over her journey and says with zero irony how she’s no longer a woman who needs validation from a man. Hannah B. doesn’t NEED a husband, she just WANTS one. Given dating happily ever after has never been on the table, I’d say Hannah very much needs a husband.
Tyler and Jed do the mandatory ring shopping, and everything is going smoothly until Hannah flips out en route to break one poor guy’s heart. She demands to be let out of the car, and I assume she’s going to puke because Hannah has proven she doesn’t have the strongest constitution. She starts taking off to who knows where when she slips, falls and skins her elbow.
A producer rushes to her aid, but as far as drama goes, this is fairly disappointing. One unconvincing runaway bride-to-be in need of a band-aid. BFD.

Hannah eventually rallies, and it’s Tyler who arrives first. Even if I didn’t know Jed is just the absolute worst, I’d be rooting for Tyler. Somewhere between the car ride and Tyler’s arrival, Hannah stops being conflicted and finds the clarity she’s been going on and on about all season.
Tyler starts his monologue which is always the worst part. They let these men and women just completely lay it all out there before giving them the bad news. Hannah is kind enough to stop Tyler before he really hits his stride. Yes, she’s been falling in love with him, but she just loves Jed more.

Tyler actually wishes her luck with Jed and tells Hannah he will remain her biggest cheerleader. I’m as cynical as they come when it pertains to The Bachelor/Bachelorette, but Tyler has managed to chisel away some of my crusty shell.
Jed arrives with his guitar, and the only thing worse than his attempts to verbalize his undying devotion to Hannah are the lyrics to the song he sings to her instead. What’s more disturbing is Hannah talking about praying for a husband when she was a little girl.
Hannah is only 24 years old. Most little girls may dress up as brides, but I don’t recall sitting around thinking about my future husband as a child. Barbies and sleepovers were much more my bag.
Hannah speaks about a lifetime of struggle, and we really don’t know much other than this is a young woman who seems to jump from one toxic relationship straight into another.
She declares her love, Jed drops down on one knee and proposes, and Hannah accepts. We see some video footage of the happy couple right after they become engaged, but things go downhill fast when Hannah learns her Prince Charming is actually a frog.
The news breaks about Jed’s ex, and this revelation leads to a confrontation between the couple at some undisclosed little hideaway. Jed tries to downplay the relationship. Apparently, Jed doesn’t think dating someone includes having sex with them, going on vacations with them, introducing them to his family, or telling him he loves them on multiple occasions.

Jed apologizes and admits that he never thought he’d actually find the love of his life on a reality dating show. He knows he’s screwed up, and he’s willing to do whatever he can to make things right. But Hannah feels humiliated, and, more importantly, she thinks Jed tainted her entire experience as the Bachelorette.
Hannah tells Jed she agreed to marry a different man, and this fool (my words) is not who she signed up for. She removes her engagement ring, places it on the table, and then it’s back live to the studio with Chris Harrison.
Hannah may have turned over the ring, but she has yet to confirm the current status of her relationship with Jed. Not surprisingly, it’s over, and Hannah, who looks fantastic, is still very emotional.
Hannah has to face Jed for the fist time since their breakup. He’s seen the error of his ways, and he’s become a better man. He apologizes for hurting everyone including, Hannah, her family, and Bachelor Nation. The reason he lied is simply because he was worried if he came clean, he’d lose Hannah. How did that work out for you, Jed?
Hannah’s very gracious and acknowledges while this has been hard for her, she knows Jed and his family have suffered as well. Even though what he did wasn’t good, Hannah fell in love with a part of him she still believes exists, and she hopes he can learn from all of this and move on with his life.
Any chance of these two crazy kids making it work? Not according to Hannah.
Jed leaves because there’s just nothing else to say. Hannah on the other hand feels very proud of herself. In the past, she’d stick with relationships even if their wasn’t trust or honesty, forfeiting her happiness. But she’s not like that anymore.
It truly saddens me that Hannah sounds like a woman who has never really been truly single. She proves my point when Chris questions her about her feelings for Tyler, and she admits she’s been grieving her relationship with Tyler C.
Bachelor Nation loves them some Tyler C., and it appears Hannah’s ready to settle for second best after all. Hannah asks Tyler out on a date, and he accepts, so you tell me how much Hannah Brown enjoys being a single, independent woman.
