The Good Place Review: The Brainy Bunch (Season 3 Episode 2)
Things take a turn when Trevor shows up on earth unannounced, leaving Michael and Janet to figure out a new plan on The Good Place Season 3 Episode 2, “The Brainy Bunch.”
Trevor is the absolute worst person, probably in all the universe, but everyone puts up with him because it’s the polite thing to do. By now I would have already told him that he had to leave or chill out a little bit. But, they’re all working to be good people, so that isn’t going to happen.
Meanwhile, Trevor’s putting his plans to work on Tahani and Jason, hoping that he can drive them apart if he continues to be outrageous. What Trevor doesn’t realize is that everything he’s done has only pushed Tahani and Jason closer.

Janet is the superstar of “The Brainy Bunch,” and that’s only facts. Nothing beats her humor and I’m beyond happy that we didn’t have to wait until halfway into the season before we saw Janet on earth helping Michael.
A hilarious part about Janet showing up on earth as a waitress is the fact that she forgets she can’t use her powers and tries to summon drinks right in front of everyone. Trevor and Eleanor are the ones who really noticed what she did, so it’s not as bad, but it’s only going to get trickier and trickier with her constantly trying to do human things.
I love how Janet basically throws a beer right at Trevor, hardly anyone flinching at the table, and nobody says anything. Trevor keeps opening his mouth when he shouldn’t, and because of that the group doesn’t care that he has beer thrown on him, that’s one way to know that you’re not liked.

Chidi is starting to see Eleanor in a different light now, especially since she’s trying to dip on the project. Chidi can be upset that Eleanor wants to leave, but it could also be seen as a good thing because her wanting to leave is not over some vain, vapid reasoning.
Eleanor only wants to leave because she learns more ten times better when it’s one on one sessions, and she can comfortably ask questions without looking stupid. Also, putting up with Jason and Trevor is overtly exhausting, and no one should have to be exposed to them for long periods of time.
Now that the judge has forced Michael and Janet to find asylum on earth I can only wonder what this means for them. They aren’t humans; they have no jobs, no place to live, no car, and no powers. They’ll be forced to keep on the run while still trying to make sure Eleanor and the group stay together.

I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Michael and Janet in the rest of the season because we all know Shawn is coming for them eventually now that Trevor is gone.
Favorite Quotes:
- “Hey, Eleanor, do I have the right phone number for you? You haven’t responded to any of the dank memes I’ve sent.” – Trevor
- “Ever since we walked through that portal my knowledge has stopped updating. The instant before we left a man in Venezuela named Raul Benitez was eating a ham sandwich. Did he finish it? I don’t know, and it’s making me crazy. I’ve got to find him!” – Janet
- “Can we take Trevor out? I don’t know if he can die, but I can drop a steamroller on his head. Ah, darn it. I can’t summon things; I guess I could kick him with my soft feet? This sucks.” – Janet
- “See, I just told you I don’t like talking. That whole thing could’ve been sent in a text that I pretended I never saw.” – Eleanor
