42 Best Moments from The 100 Season 5
42 Best Moments from The 100 Season 5 (continued):
20. Indra Proves That Love Isn’t Weakness

The 100 Season 5 brought us some of the best Indra content to date and if I didn’t already love her before, this moment would have sealed the deal.
Octavia: Love no one, and no one can hurt you.
Indra: I love you. Does that make me weak?
Flamekeepers have always taught Commanders to close themselves off from love because “love is weakness.” But Indra is arguably one of if not the strongest warriors on the show, proving the leadership adage to be false with her mere existence. In fact, Indra’s ability to embrace love, without sacrificing any of her strength, just makes her that much more impressive.
It also makes her a vital role model for Octavia.
19. Abby Saves Kane

It’s been pretty clear that Kane and Abby would do just about anything for each other, but on The 100 Season 5 they prove just how far they’re both willing to go to keep the other safe. Vinson attempts to kill Kane to push Abby back into her addiction, but Abby isn’t one to mess around when the lives of her loved ones are in danger.
Unlike on The 100 Season 5 Episode 10, “The Warriors Will,” when Vinson first unleashes his own cannibalistic demon, Abby doesn’t hesitate to use the shock collar, turning it to full power and killing him. Kane then uses what he believes may be his dying breaths to absolve Abby of the guilt she’s been carrying around for years.
Season 5 leaves Kane in a medically induced coma, but their love for each other has literally survived multiple forms of cannibalism, with Abby’s unparalleled medical skills they’ll get through this too.
18. Jaha’s Goes Home to Wells

Thelonious Jaha was never one of the most beloved characters on The 100, but he was a good character and his death is one of the most well-done farewells of the show. Jaha goes out nobly, doing what he’s aimed to do since the pilot: saving his people.
Jaha: On the Ark, we made death the enemy, and anyone who pushed us closer to death was eliminated.
Before he goes, Jaha imparts his wisdom to Octavia helping to shape her into the leader she needed to be to unite the bunker. May we meet again, Chancellor.
17. Make Algae Not War

Monty Green has always been and will forever be a beacon of goodness on The 100. This moment stands out because while Monty is one of the few non-warrior characters on The 100, he and Harper are the only ones brave enough and earnest enough to openly stand up against Octavia.
Monty: Go to war if you want to, but at least tell them they have a choice.
This moment is filled with a pure hopeful elation that The 100 could use more of, especially in moments that aren’t immediately undercut with more darkness and destruction. Thanks a lot, Blodreina.
16. Octavia Institutes the Gladiator Ring

This moment signifies Octavia’s leap into the abyss and institution of a horrific combination of Skaikru and Grounder justice systems. The music brings the scene to a heart-pounding fever pitch as Octavia unveils her plan for keeping Wonkru in line.
Kara Cooper, my favorite 1-Season character yet, becomes the first to “be the last,” shown standing at Blodreina’s side when the scene jumps forward six years to the current timeline.
The most impressive thing about The 100 Season 5 Episode 2, “Red Queen,” is how well it explains the state we find Wonkru in six years later through a single event rather than spaced out flashbacks (which are used extremely effectively in “Eden”). This is the culmination of the action in Blodreina/Wonkru’s origin story.
15. Diyoza Fights McCreary

In television, we’re all too used to pregnant actresses standing awkwardly behind lamps or wearing abnormally large coats to hide their baby bellies. But lately, science fiction is embracing these women and their bodies exactly the way they are.
The 100 wrote actress Ivana Milicevic’s pregnancy into the story and didn’t let it stop her from being an absolute badass. Diyoza takes on not only McCreary but also three of his armed cronies with nothing but her bare hands and a shard of broken glass. All of that makes this easily one of the best fight scenes to ever grace our televisions.
14. Gaia and Indra’s Conversation in Trigedasleng in the Gorge

The relationship between Indra and Gaia has always been fraught with tension, but The 100 Season 5 shows us how much this mother-daughter duo still loves each other. Indra flat-out refuses to leave her daughter behind even though they are pinned down in the gorge and chances of Wonkru coming back for them are slim.
This conversation they share is tragically beautiful as Gaia urges Indra to let her go, and in return, Indra begs her to hang on just a little longer. Bellamy joins in and encourages Gaia to keep fighting for Madi’s sake.
As Octavia watches the three people she sentenced to death just days before clinging to life, she finally starts to realize how much pain and devastation she has caused her own people in the name of survival.
Octavia: Wonkru is broken. I broke it.
Indra: Yes you did.
13. Emori Lands the Rocket

During the 6 years they spent in space, Emori shadowed Raven, learning how to fly the ship and monitor the ground for radio signals and signs of life, but she didn’t have a lot of opportunities to put what she learned into practice. After her first attempt at flying doesn’t go all that smoothly, and Raven stays behind on the ship Emori isn’t very confident in her ability to get her friends to the ground safely.
But when it comes right down to it she executes the maneuver flawlessly. Emori and Bellamy’s smiles as they realize they made it home safely are so bright, I’m sure they could’ve powered Eden for at least a year.
12. Octavia Becomes Blodreina

In order to save her people, both the ones inside the farm and out of it, Octavia implements Wonkru’s new mantra showing rioters exactly what it means to be an enemy of Wonkru.
Octavia: You are Wonkru, or you are an enemy of Wonkru. Choose!
She takes out about a dozen people in the process, bathing herself in the blood of Wonkru’s enemies, repeating the command over and over. Finally, as the people bow to her amid the slaughter, chills go through the audience as the Red Queen ascends.
11. Bellamy and Clarke Rescue Wonkru

Talk about showing up just in time, Octavia is seconds away from striking Kane down where he stands when the impossible happens. Over a year after they initially expected to be freed from the bunker, Wonkru finally sees the light of day when Bellamy and Clarke descend through the ceiling like a pair of actual angels.
Octavia: I knew you’d come.
The all-powerful Blodreina becomes a little girl at the sight of her brother, leaping into his arms with a childlike joy. But that joy is quickly replaced by the horror and confusion on Bellamy and Clarke’s faces as they take in the difference the last six years has made on the bunker and those inside it.

All Commander Madi/Lexa Clarke moments #1!!!
Bellarke 5×03 and 5×04 stuff, and the second half of 5×13. And Bellamy poisoning Octavia in 5×08 and fighting in the pit with Indra. Indra in general was awesome. Enjoyed Clarke in the first half of the season. Couldn’t pinpoint storylines for Murphy or Raven, but I always love Murphy. Not totally feeling Raven/Shaw. Becho needs to just END, as does that damn flame storyline.
Okay but MURPHY AND RAVEN PLAY SOCCER
I’m shocked that Octavia bowing to Madi isn’t #1. Holy cow, what a moment.
