TV We’re Thankful for This Season: The Good Doctor, The Good Place, Wynonna Earp, and More (continued):
20. 30 Rock on Hulu
Hulu picking up 30 Rock. I didn’t think I’d live through it dropping from Netflix, but then Hulu swooped in and saved my life. High fiving a million angels.
– Amanda Coyne
21. Steven Universe
I feel like I’ve said this a lot the last year, but no show has grabbed me in some time the way Steven Universe has. It’s a show that is tender and warm and reflects a world I want to believe in. One that’s filled with love, empathy, and understanding where a main character can believe in people without that ever making him seem weak.
This is a show that kids are watching, and will continue to watch for years to come and take important lessons from, so if nothing else I’m thankful for that.
– Drew Koenig
22. Wynonna Earp
I am thankful for everything Wynonna Earp has given us — a kick-ass Mom, representation that matters, and a fandom full of kindness. Emily Andras has shown us that super hero’s can wear maternity clothes, that every relationship has its ups and downs, to never forget the humor in tough situations, and that love in all forms conquers all.
This show has also created a fandom family that proves every day that a show, its creator and actors can inspire kindness and compassion; one of which I’m thankful to be a part of.
– Hillary Esquina
23. Cheryl Blossom (Riverdale)
I am thankful for Cheryl Blossom, Riverdale’s gothic queen. When the show gets bogged down by over-the-top and head-scratching storylines, I’m grateful for this fiery redhead’s one-line zingers and surprising vulnerable side. Cheryl gives me life.
– Shabnaj Chowdhury
24. Oswald Cobblepot (Gotham)
I am thankful for Oswald Cobblepot with all his schemes and theatrics. Without him, Gotham would just be another “cop” drama. He is the connective piece that truly brings the show together in a way so many other shows fail to. Rooting for the bad guy has never been so fun!
– Charles Henning
25. The Good Doctor
I am thankful for shows like The Good Doctor for showing the world that people with limitations and disabilities can be successful in the world. My sister has autism, and it gives me so much hope for the opening of minds about how we view people like her and Dr. Shaun Murphy.
-Mary Misasi
26. You’re the Worst
I’m thankful that You’re the Worst, an incredible, powerful, and ground-breaking half-hour “comedy” (loosely defined as such) has gotten a fifth and final season.
It’s rare that a show this niche lasts this long. The series’ depiction of mental illness has been heartbreaking, incredible, and Emmy-worthy, and I’m so beyond thrilled that it has the chance to wrap up on its own terms.
– Caralynn Lippo
27. 90s Nostalgia on Hulu
I’m thankful for Hulu having all of Full House and Boy Meets World. It lets me go back and relive my youth. It’s a nice wind down after long stressful days at work.
-Mary Misasi
28. Kevin (Probably) Saves the World
There’s a lot of excellent, but dark, television these days, so a show like Kevin (Probably) Saves the World, which is light-hearted, positive, and inspiring, is a welcome break from that. It’s also just really fun to watch.
