Grey’s Anatomy Season 22 Episode 16 Review: Feel It Still
Amelia must take a risk to save Owen’s mother on Grey’s Anatomy Season 22 Episode 16, “Feel It Still.”
Owen’s mother, Evelyn, is brought to the hospital after suffering a stroke, and thankfully, Amelia is there when it happens.
It creates an interesting dynamic, but even though it’s been years since they were together, Amelia and Owen were married once — and Evelyn was her mother-in-law.

DEBRA MOONEY, KEVIN MCKIDD
At first, it seems Evelyn is going to be okay, but things take a turn, and Amelia must operate with a risky procedure. This certainly isn’t the first time Amelia has resisted doing something risky, then proven how good she is at her job, and it likely won’t be the last.
Still, this time feels different.
If she makes a mistake, she worries Owen won’t ever be able to forgive her. But if she doesn’t try, she worries she won’t be able to forgive herself.

Teddy joins Amelia for the procedure, which is even more powerful. It’s obvious there are no romantic feelings left between Amelia and Owen, but it’s still always nice to see how well these two women interact.
It’s been that way between them from the start, with a level of mutual respect and understanding rather than competition or jealousy.
The experience has an impact on Amelia that encourages her to be a little bolder with Toni and tell her she shouldn’t get back together with her ex. Despite the uniqueness of the situation, my only complaint is that it seems like this is a lesson Amelia keeps learning about life and her career.
Otherwise, it’s nice to see this focus on her character and the complexity of her past with Owen.

Meanwhile, Jo is officially back to work, and it’s not an easy shift. She must perform an emergency C-section that winds up being more complicated than expected.
Though on the outside, it looks like she’s mishandling the situation and needs to be reigned in a bit by Helm, her instincts about there being another problem with the patient are correct.
Thankfully, they’re able to find and correct the issue in time. It’s not just the stress that affects Jo here, though. At home later, she admits to Link that she sometimes looks at her babies and thinks most about how she almost died.
That patient reminded her of this — and maybe for the better, gave her a reason to share those feelings with her husband.
This episode also shows the fallout of Blue’s decision to give a patient a treatment in secret, despite it not being approved. Bailey has been keeping that secret to protect Blue, but punishing him on her own, but things like this always come out eventually.

In this case, the patient’s son asks about it when Ben and Dani are offering an update. This puts Ben in an awkward position, realizing that Bailey hasn’t been forthcoming.
It’s not Ben who gets her in trouble for it, though. When Richard calls Bailey into his office, it’s because he learned it from Dani. Now, the Institutional Review Board is launching an investigation. This could mean trouble for Bailey, Blue, or both of them.
We’ve seen this kind of thing happen before, but it’s not usually Bailey whose career is in jeopardy.
