24 New Fall TV Shows You Won’t Want to Miss
19. Valor

In this series, Captain Leland Gallo (Matt Barr from Hellcats) and Warrant Officer Nora Madani (Christina Ochoa from Animal Kingdom) are a team of elite Army helicopter pilots who conceal a dark truth when a mission in Somalia goes sideways. The show unfolds in the present, mixed with some flashbacks to the failed missing, while uncovering layers of personal and government secrets.
Charlie Barnett (Chicago Fire) costars as Madani’s boyfriend, and well-known producer Anna Fricke (Being Human and Dawson’s Creek) is co-creator with newcomer Kyle Jarrow, who also wrote the series. We’re still trying to understand how this military drama ended up on The CW, but the soapy elements might be why it sticks around.
Valor premieres on Monday, October 9 at 10/9c on The CW.
20. Dynasty

A reboot that takes the classic into a contemporary setting, this soap drama will focus on a similar structure, but in Atlanta, with the same names as those from the original 1980s soap opera.
Elizabeth Gillies (Victorious) plays Fallon Carrington who has a tough time coming to terms with her father Blake, played by Grant Show (Melrose Place), and his new engagement to Cristal, played by Nathalie Kelley (The Vampire Diaries).
James Mackay (The Straits) plays her brother Steve Carrington, and Robert Christopher Riley (Hit the Floor) plays the limo-driver love interest. There have been some changes to the series, thankfully, making it a much more diverse and rounded show, but the network has been focusing in a different direction that its audience might not want this type of reboot.
Dynasty premieres on Wednesday, October 11 at 10/9c on The CW.
21. Lore

The spooky anthology series is based on the popular nonfiction podcast of the same name, and will explore the darker and frightening side of history behind modern-day myths and legends. It combines documentary footage with cinematic scenes to tell these stories, and the series will star some big names like Kristin Bauer van Straten (True Blood) and Robert Patrick (Scorpion).
Gale Ann Hurd (The Walking Dead) and Aaron Mahnke (The X-Files) teamed up to create and executive produce this anthology series. Mahnke was the creator of the original podcast which uncovered real-life events that were connected to horror legends such as vampires, werewolves, and body snatchers.
Lore premieres on Friday, October 13 on Amazon.

This thriller series is based on a book and will be set in the late 1970s revolving around two FBI agents, played by Jonathan Groff (Looking) and Holt McCallany (Blue Bloods), who interview convicted serial killers in order to understand how these criminals think. They use this information and apply it to helping solve ongoing cases.
The show is being penned by playwrights Joe Penhall and Jennifer Haley, with David Fincher (House of Cards) and Charlize Theron executive producing. This will be the second show that Theron’s production company Denver and Delilah will be producing for Netflix, the first being the now cancelled show Girlboss.
Mindhunter premieres on Friday, October 13 on Netflix.
23. S.W.A.T.

This series is based off of the movie, which happens to be based off of a television show from 1975, and has a pretty long list of well known actors to fill out the officer roles. Shemar Moore (Criminal Minds), Jay Harrington (Better Off Ted), Kenny Johnson (The Shield), Lina Esco (Kingdom), and Stephanie Sigman (Narcos) all star in this new crime drama.
Los Angeles born and bred S.W.A.T. Sergeant Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson (Moore) is torn between loyalty to the streets and duty to his fellow officers when he’s suddenly tasked to run the special weapons and tactics unit. Audiences will recognize the character names, but this provocative new take on the story will be one worth checking out.
S.W.A.T. premieres on Thursday, November 2 at 10/9c on CBS.
24. Future Man

Josh Futturman is a janitor by day and a gamer by night, who is recruited by mysterious visitors to travel through time to prevent the extinction of humanity. Josh Hutcherson, known for The Hunger Games movies, stars as the lead and serves as producer on the show.
The comedy series is being executive produced by Preacher producing team actor Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Eliza Couple (Happy Endings), Ed Begley Jr. (Blunt Talk), and Haley Joel Osment (Silicon Valley) co-star in the science fiction show. Sadly Glenne Headly (Parks and Recreation) passed away before the show finished filming.
Future Man premieres on Tuesday, November 14 on Hulu.
