24 New Fall TV Shows You Won’t Want to Miss
13. 9JKL

This sitcom television series is created and executive produced by Dana Klein and Mark Feuerstein, which is loosely based on their life as a married couple. Elliot Gould (Friends), Linda Lavin (The Good Wife), and David Walton (About A Boy) star as his family members.
The show centers around Josh (Feuerstein) when he lived in an apartment which is sandwiched between his adoring parent’s (Gould and Lavin) apartment and the apartment where his competitive brother (Walton), sister-in-law, and newborn baby live. A unique story for sure, the living situation prompts some family bonding and boundary setting.
9JKL premieres on Monday, October 2 at 8:30/7:30c on CBS.
14. The Gifted

Another Marvel comics universe show, this series stars Stephen Moyer (True Blood) and Amy Acker (Person of Interest) as ordinary parents who take their family on the run after they discover their children’s mutant abilities. The family seeks help from an underground network of mutants while on the run from the government.
Bryan Singer, the man behind the X-Men movie franchise, will also be directing the sci-fi spin off, with Matt Nix (Burn Notice) taking place as creator and writer. The show itself is within the same universe of the movies, however don’t expect a crossover anytime soon.
The Gifted premieres on Monday, October 2 at 9/8c on FOX.
15. The Mayor

This might be one of the funnier new shows coming to our television sets, but it has the crappiest time slot. Brandon Michael Hall (Search Party) plays rapper Courtney Rose who runs for his hometown mayor as a publicity stunt, and ends up winning.
Yvette Nicole Brown (Community) and Lea Michele (Glee) co-star in this extremely likeable premise which has some heartfelt moments and pure comedic writing. Jeremy Bronson brings this to ABC as part of his overall deal, and Daveed Diggs, who is best known for his role in Hamilton, is executive producer on the series.
The Mayor premieres Tuesday, October 3 at 9:30/8:30c on ABC.
16. Kevin (Probably) Saves the World

Michelle Fazekas and co-creator Tara Butters (Reaper and Marvel’s Agent Carter) are back with this fantasy drama about a selfish man named Kevin, played by Jason Ritter (The Event), who is tasked from God to save the world. Yvette, played by Kimberly Hebert Gregory (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) after a last minute recast, is the angel who brings him this message and forms a partnership with him to fulfill the task.
JoAnna Garcia Swisher (Once Upon a Time) plays his widowed twin sister and Chloe East (Ice) plays his niece, who he moves in with while this takes place. After a change in title after some concern that people would make an assumption about its premise, Fazekas and Butters have both promised that this show is more about finding hope in dark times than anything else.
Kevin (Probably) Saves the World premieres on Tuesday, October 3 at 10/9c on ABC.
17 . Ghost Wars

The horror series focuses on a remote Alaskan town that has been overrun by paranormal forces. Local outcast Roman Mercer, played by Avan Jogia (Twisted) channels his repressed psychic powers and must overcome his own personal demons (and the town’s judgement) to save everyone from a mass outbreaking of hauntings.
The show’s supporting cast has a lot of big hitters including Vincent D’Onofrio (Daredevil), Kim Coates (Son of Anarchy), Kristin Lehman (Motive) and legendary icon Meatloaf. Simon Barry serves as creator and executive producer, and is best known for his hit shows Van Helsing and Continuum.

18. Superstition

The series centers on the Mosley family, owners of the only funeral home in a fictitious town on the outskirts of New Orleans where they’re also keepers of the town’s dark secrets and history. The town is known for its haunted houses, elevated graveyards, odd townsfolk and a long history of unusual phenomena.
The new supernatural drama is from writer-director-producer and recurring actor Mario Van Peebles (Bloodline), with W. Earl Brown (Preacher), Demetria McKinney (House of Payne), and Brad James (For Better or Worse). Joel Anderson Thompson (Battlestar Galactica) has been tapped as showrunner alongside writing team Brusta Brown and John Mitchell Todd (Defiance).
