14 Things We Know About Grey’s Anatomy Season 14
The long wait is almost over. Grey’s Anatomy returns for Season 14 next week, and we’ll finally see what happens with the arrival of Owen’s sister.
Meanwhile, Bailey starts the process of rebuilding the hospital after the fire we saw on Grey’s Anatomy Season 13 Episode 24, “Ring of Fire.”
What else can we expect this season? Here are a few things we know about Grey’s Anatomy Season 14. (Spoilers below, obviously.)
1. Teddy is back

Kim Raver is returning as Teddy Altman for a multi-episode arc this season. Her arrival is alongside Owen’s sister, Megan, who was previously believed to be dead.
It should be interesting to see her after all these years, and to see how she reacts to how much has changed at the hospital since she left.
2. Megan Hunt

Owen’s sister, Megan Hunt, will now be played by Abigail Spencer. When we saw her character originally on Grey’s Anatomy Season 13 Episode 8, “The Room Where it Happens,” she was played by Bridget Regan.
3. Several doctors not returning

It was clear at the end of last season that Stephanie Edwards, played by Jerrika Hinton, was leaving Grey-Sloan Memorial for good. Also not returning of Eliza Minnick (Marika Dominczyk) and Leah Murphy (Tessa Ferrer). Don’t expect Callie to be back any time soon, either.
4. Jo’s Husband

Glee’s Matthew Morrison confirmed that he’ll be back as Paul, Jo’s husband, this season, and said it would be a “big role.” It’s not entirely surprising, since Alex’s interaction with him last season felt like the beginning of something more.
5. Krista Vernoff is returning as co-showrunner

Vernoff was head writer and executive producer for Grey’s Anatomy Season 1-7, and she’ll be back for Season 14 to serve as co-showrunner with Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers.
6. “Lighter and funnier”

Remember the lighter tone of the earlier seasons of Grey’s Anatomy? Reportedly, Season 14 is going to feel a lot like that (though of course, we can still expect a ton of drama). Krista Vernoff’s return means we can expect a show that is “lighter and funnier.”
