The Good Place: Top Moments from “Everything is Great!” (Season 2 Episodes 1 and 2)

Reviews, The Good Place

Things take a turn for the worse for Michael on The Good Place Season 2 Episodes 1 and 2, “Everything is Great!”

“Everything is Great!” is a funny, wild, and chaotic start to the second season of The Good Place.

I’m a little sad that Michael ends up resetting the world again because Tahani being the new Eleanor of The Good Place would make for a good season.

Here are my top moments from the Season 2 premiere.

Love Knows No Boundaries

It’s apparent that Eleanor has a crush on Chidi and the only reason she didn’t actively seek it out or realize her feelings were because she was too focused on not being caught by others.

Could Eleanor flirting with Chidi the first time they meet the second time around be a hint that we could see a potential relationship come from the two? I hope so.

Third time’s the charm, I always say.

Twice The Fun

Michael giving Chidi two soulmates and making him make the big decision on who he should spend the rest of his life with, only to make him be the woman he is not compatible with is ultimate torture.

No matter what I hope that Chidi still has to choose between the two on who his soulmate is because it is an incredible torture technique. Giving the man who can barely make a choice between two soups the duty of choosing who his true soulmate? Brilliant.

New Job? I Think Not

Vicky may not want to be Denise because she thinks that she should be the one torturing Chidi, but I can already tell it’s going to make for some fun banter between her and Angélique.

I can’t help but wonder if maybe she has a crush on Chidi? I know that she’s only there to help torture Chidi, Jason, Tahani, and Eleanor but Chidi is the only one she continues to try and impress/talk to.

There’s got to be more than her just wanting to be the one to torture him. Why would she risk exposing all of them by actively trying to get in the middle of Chidi and Angélique?

New Clothes, New Man

Tahani’s storyline on “Everything is Great!” is my favorite because she’s the one who’s going through the most torture.

Michael did not come to play around the second time. Michael literally forced Tahani to lose it and become the new Eleanor that we saw in Season 1. All because she is in a tiny house with a tiny man.

Tricking Tahani into wearing cargo pants in public is absolutely diabolical because she wouldn’t be caught dead in those while she was alive.

Tahani may have been the one who broke over the littlest situation, but it’s hilarious getting to watch her squirm as she tries her best to fake it until she makes it.

Based off the season premiere it looks like fans are in for a wild ride on this season of The Good Place.

Other Thoughts:

  • Not that I’m complaining about Eleanor’s soulmate being shirtless all the time, but maybe on the third try he should step his acting game up.
  • Jason outing himself on the first day honestly does not surprise me in the least bit. There’s no way he’d be able to hold out for more than a day being silent and next to someone every second of the day.
  • Michael is losing the trust of his peers in the town, so he better get ahold of himself quick because I get the feeling that some of them aren’t afraid to out him to Shawn.
