27 TV Lawyers We Would Hire in a Heartbeat

Better Call Saul, Bones, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Daredevil, Franklin & Bash, How I Met Your Mother, How To Get Away With Murder, Lists, Pinned, Rectify, Scandal, Suits, The Grinder

27 TV lawyers we would hire in a heartbeat (continued)

13. Rebecca Bunch (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend)

Rebecca Bunch Crazy Ex-Girlfriend Screencap

Even when it seems like she doesn’t have it together, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’s Rebecca Bunch (Rachel Bloom) can nearly handle cases in her sleep. She’s an incredible attorney who works hard, and she might just break out into song.

14. Stewart and Dean Sanderson (The Grinder)

THE GRINDER: L-R: Rob Lowe and Fred Savage in the series premiere episode of THE GRINDER airing Tuesday, Sept. 29 (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. ©2015 Fox Broadcasting Co. Cr: Ray Mickshaw/FOX.

Only one of them is a real lawyer, and the other one just played one on TV, but Stewart and Dean Sanderson (Fred Savage and Rob Lowe) make one heck of a team.

Too bad The Grinder was canceled after just one season.

15. Alan Shore (Boston Legal)

James Spader - Alan Shore, Boston Legal

Before he was Raymond Reddington on The Blacklist, James Spader was the incredibly intelligent lawyer on the ABC spinoff of The Practice, Boston Legal. He may not always be ethical in the way he practices law, but that’s often a good thing for his clients.

16. Jon Stern (Rectify)

Jon Stern from Rectify, played by Luke Kirby, is a lawyer who doesn’t know the meaning of giving up. He believed Daniel Holden was innocent, and he made it his priority to get him out of prison and clear his name.

Even when it seemed impossible, he refused to stop trying, and he remained loyal to the family.

17. Matt Murdock (Daredevil)

The Netflix Original Series “Marvel’s Daredevil”

The devil of Hell’s Kitchen — not the title you’d expect for someone who is always looking out for the little guy or the downtrodden.

Not only does Daredevil’s Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) physically fight for justice, but he’s also a skilled lawyer who can’t resist a good pro-bono case.

18. Olivia Pope (Scandal)

SCANDAL - "The Miseducation of Susan Ross" - Following the first Republican debate, Olivia is presented with damaging information about an opponent and enlists the Gladiators to verify its authenticity. Meanwhile, David deals with fallout from his dating life, and Cyrus continues to work on his own political agenda, on "Scandal," THURSDAY, MARCH 31 (9:00-10:00 p.m. EDT) on the ABC Television Network. (ABC/Richard Cartwright)

We don’t see Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) in the courtroom on Scandal, but if you’re in some serious trouble, she’s the one you’re going to want to call. Period.

  • Hmmm, in 1981 I would have hired Joyce Davenport (Veronica Hamel) of “Hill Street Blues.” For grins, tweet to NBC’s Law & Order SVU and ask that they include a cameo of “Judge Davenport” in SVU before the show ends. She deserves it! In the mid-80s, I would have hired L.A. Law’s Grace Van Owen (Susan Dey) and Ann Kelsey (Jill Eikenberry).
