13 Stars You Didn’t Know Were on The X-Files
7. Bradley Whitford
“Firewalker” (Season 2 Episode 9)
Considered by many as a rip-off of the episode, “Ice.” Bradley Whitford guests as a scientist who wants nothing more than to protect humanity from a dangerous parasite. Think of Josh Lyman going full Rambo to protect the country, and you’ve got a picture as to why this guest spot was so memorable
8. Tea Leoni
“Hollywood A.D.” (Season 7 Episode 19)
Leoni plays a fictional version of Scully in this episode written by her then husband, David Duchovny. Leoni went on to star in several late 90s blockbusters and is currently starring on Madam Secretary.
9. Ryan Reynolds
“Syzygy” (Season 3 Episode 13)

Reynolds plays a virgin jock who gets sacrificed in this play on the classic mean girls plot. Difficult to imagine that such a massive star was on the show for less than five minutes. Totally worth watching just to see his chubby face!
10. Lucy Liu
“Hell Money” (Season 3 Episode 19)
A pre-Ally McBeal Liu plays a leukemia-stricken daughter of a man who plays a dangerous underground game to pay for her treatments. Nowadays, Liu can be seen playing Joan Watson on Elementary.
11. Luke Wilson
“Bad Blood” (Season 5 Episode 12)

Luke Wilson is known for his roles on Legally Blonde and Idiocracy, but who can forget this classic X-Files episode or those teeth? So gross!
12. Jodie Foster
“Never Again” (Season 4 Episode 13)
Foster voices a tattoo who compels its owner to commit awful deeds. Foster was a close friend of Gillian Anderson and agreed to do the episode as a favor. I don’t think I could imagine anyone else, but Jodie Foster voicing this character, and I’m thankful that the friendship allowed Foster to do it.
13. Terry O’Quinn
“Aubrey” (Season 2 Episode 12) and Fight For The Future
The only actor on my list who plays three different roles. O’Quinn first guest starred during season two and later appeared in a small but pivotal role in Fight For The Future, and finally he reappears as The Shadow Man. It was clear from the start that O’Quinn was going to do great things on Lost.
