Tell-Tale TV Picks of the Week: You’re The Worst, Madam Secretary, and iZombie Deliver Best Quotes
This week on TV, everything was about the Flarrow crossover, and it caused so happiness and pain. Are the Olicity shippers still alive?
Elsewhere, Henry went against protocol to help ensure that the US doesn’t go to war with Russia on Madam Secretary. Timothy Olyphant dropped by The Grinder, while Trubel returned to Grimm. Clive was suspected of murder on iZombie, and Ward killed Rosalind on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Here’s what our writers had to think about week in TV.
Funniest Moment
Lyra: Felicity greeting Barry on The Flash. In the middle of all this chaos with Vandal Savage it was like watching a comedy sketch on a completely different show. Despite it all there was love, trust, and genuine happiness at seeing each other.
Christine: The death of imaginary friend, Sparkle, on Supernatural. As the Winchesters look on at the glittered bloody mess on the floor of the little girl’s bedroom, Sully, Sam’s imaginary friend, says, “Sparkle…even in death you shine.”
Jessica: Constance Wu continues to be delightfully hilarious on Fresh Off The Boat. I can always depend on her character to give me a laugh.
Lizzie: Any time Timothy Olyphant was sharing a screen with Rob Lowe, on The Grinder. The great thing about Olyphant’s guest starring role is that he’s essentially doing what Lowe’s character refused to do – and you can see why Dean would refuse. Olyphant looks ridiculous taking his shirt of in the middle of the courtroom, the morgue, etc.
Allison: I just loved all of Barry and Oliver during the Flarrow crossover. Barry’s comments on Oliver’s new getup and the hug moment were amazing, but the funniest moments to me were Barry reacting to Malcolm. “Is that the only way this guy knows how to enter a room?”
Caralynn: Fargo isn’t exactly a comedy, but oh man, this week’s episode “Loplop” was so damn funny. Every single scene of Peggy and Ed holding Dodd hostage in the cabin was hilarious: Peggy lecturing Dodd on manners and poke-stabbing him with kitchen knife, Peggy force feeding Dodd beans, Ed putting the pillowcase over Dodd’s head. All of it. Kirsten Dunst and Jeffrey Donovan have impeccable comedic timing.
