Sweetpea Season 2 Trailer Released by Sky and STARZ

British black dramedy series Sweetpea returns for a second season next month.

Sweetpea Season 2 will premiere on Tuesday, November 26 in the UK before premiering in the U.S. on Starz come January 2027. Ahead of that premiere, a new trailer for the season has been released.

Sweetpea is based on the book series of the same name by CJ Skuse. The series stars Rhiannon Lewis (Ella Purnell), a mousy young woman working as an administrative assistant at a local newspaper.

Rhiannon has one very bad day — her dad and dog both die. Her sister, Seren (Alexandra Dowling), also decides to sell their dad’s house, where Rhiannon lives. Seren hires Rhiannon’s teenage bully, Julia Blenkingsopp (Nicôle Lecky), as the estate agent.

Then, after accidentally killing a belligerent drunk man, Rhiannon gets a taste for justice-via-murder. Sweetpea Season 1 ended on a massive cliffhanger. Rhiannon’s love interest AJ (Callum Lynch) discovered evidence of her crimes, and she stabbed him.

The last we saw of Rhiannon, she was holding AJ’s dead body in her kitchen as Seren was about to walk in. The Season 2 trailer shows that, somehow, Rhiannon got out of that mess.

The Sweetpea Season 2 synopsis reads that: “Rhiannon is navigating a new promotion, an irresistible rebound, and a copycat killer threatening to expose her. The kill list is mounting, and she is forced to question whether her perfect ex, AJ, was right: is she a monster?”

Sweetpea Season 2 boasts new cast members who appear throughout the trailer. As previously reported, Rish Shah portrays Rhiannon’s new love interest, Gabriel. Tamsin Greig plays AJ’s mother, Liv. Based on the trailer, she is investigating her son’s disappearance and (rightly) suspects Rhiannon.

Taj Atwal will play Freya, Rhiannon’s new boss, while Jenny Walser joins as Rhiannon’s new friend Daisy. Annabelle Davis rounds out the new cast as Bella, a police admin worker.

Sweetpea Season 1 cast members returning with Purnell include Dowling, Jon Pointing as Rhiannon’s former lover Craig, Jeremy Swift as Carnsham Gazette editor Norman, Leah Harvey and Nitin Ganatra as Detectives Marina and Rory, respectively, and Ingrid Oliver as Detective Inspector Diana St. John.

Sweetpea was created by Kirstie Swain. The series is produced by See-Saw Films and Sky Studios.
