Sweetpea Season 2 Adds Tamsin Greig and Rish Shah
Rhiannon Lewis is coming back for more, but this time, she’ll find herself in more of a pickle.
Sky and STARZ shared that Riot Women‘s Tasmin Greig and Overcompensating‘s Rish Shah have joined Sweetpea Season 2. Shah will portray Rhiannon’s romantic interest, Gabriel, alongside Grieg, who stars as AJ’s mother, Liv.
In addition, it was announced that Sweetpea Season 2 has officially begun filming in London. There’s no release date yet, but Season 1 recently finished its run in late 2024.

According to its synopsis, Sweetpea Season 2 will see Rhiannon dealing with all the circumstances from Season 1. From dealing with familial problems and new and old foes on her tracks, Rihannon must answer the question if she’s truly a monster or not.
“Navigating a new promotion, an irresistible rebound, Marina still hot on her trail, her sister selling her family home, and a copycat killer threatening to expose her, the kill list is mounting,” the season’s synopsis reads.
Additionally, Riot Women‘s Taj Atwal steps in as Freya, Rhiannon’s formidable new boss at the Carnsham Gazette, while Heartstopper‘s Jenny Walser plays an adoring new friend, Daisy.
The ensemble cast of Sweetpea Season 1 will also be returning. This includes Jon Pointing, Jeremy Swift, Leah Harvey, Ingrid Oliver, Nitin Ganatra, and Alexandra Dowling.

Executive Producers Ella Purnell, Ella Jones, and Patrick Walters released a statement about Sweetpea Season 2 going into production.
“We are thrilled that Sweetpea and the world of Carnsham are back in full swing for Season 2, with new and exciting characters for what promises to be an intoxicating ride for Rhiannon as she continues on her murderous journey,” they said.
“This season, the stakes are even higher, and as the consequences of her actions begin to close in, questions of morality and justice will come into play.”

The series is adapted from C.J. Skuse’s novel of the same name and produced by See-Saw Films and fanboy in association with Sky Studios. Ella Jones and Ella Purnell serve as executive producers, alongside Kirstie Swain.
Sweetpea Season 2 Episodes 1, 5, and 6 will be directed by Ella Jones from Season 1. Meanwhile, Sweetpea Season 2 Episodes 2, 3, and 4 will be directed by Coky Giedroyc.
The series is written by Selina Lim, Emme Hoy, Anna Jordan, and Laura Jayne Tunbridge.
