The Traitors: New Blood Season 1 Episodes 3-4 Review: The Traitors Are Watching/The Death Parade

With new power comes new responsibility and danger. The Traitors are discovering this on The Traitors: New Blood Season 1 Episode 3, “The Traitors Are Watching,” and The Traitors: New Blood Season 1 Episode 4, “The Death Parade.” Episode 3 resolves the “Who will be the new Traitor?” problem.

Joe and Tomica pick Katie as the third and final member of the initial Traitors. They sent Xavier into the land of the dead. 

Katie, Joe, and Tomica are probably the happiest group of Traitors that we have ever seen on the show. They already vibe well, and Tomica and Joe are showing signs that they may go to distance.

However, Xavier’s ruthless gameplay is already coming to haunt Katie. She’s becoming the number one suspect going into next week.

The journey of the Traitors is going to take focus this year, as we have seen in the past, because we’re three weeks into New Blood, and we still haven’t heard much from some of the new cast. However, those we have heard from are already standing out in a major way.

For example, Victor is already becoming a comedy relief type character. The poor Faithful can’t catch a break, and that will likely continue until they ultimately vote him out, or he miraculously escapes until the end.

While Victor was the main standout of the Faithfuls for the first three episodes of the season, all eyes are on Jay. His chaotic energy provides for fun TV. However, it may lead to his demise.

We suspect that the Faithfuls may kill him just to get rid of someone who isn’t helping the team. The Traitors: New Blood is currently on the same path as many of the other American and international versions. We’ve seen this story before. 

Nonetheless, there isn’t anything wrong with the story. It’s a really good story, and we can’t wait to see how it all plays out. Katie will likely survive this week’s banishment, with Jay and Sherry providing enough of a distraction.

One of them will likely be the next Faithful to go before Katie. However, it would be interesting if we saw a Traitor gone this soon.

The Traitors: New Blood‘s latest episodes make us excited to see where the season heads. It has a really strong start, and shows that non-celebrities can be just as entertaining as their famous counterparts. Let the mayhem and madness continue. 

Stray Thoughts

• Joe’s moment with Michael was very heartwarming. Joe is doing such a good job of establishing himself as an authority figure and someone trustworthy. The Faithful will be shocked when it’s revealed he’s a Traitor.
• Tomica is also excelling at seeming harmless and fun.  
• It’s too early to call, but these Traitors could become some of the best. 
• There is a concerning pattern with three of the seven brown people already gone within the first four episodes. We have seen this happen on other seasons of The Traitors. We hope this isn’t normalized. 
• We don’t think their deaths or banishment have anything to do with their race, but representation matters, so we just hope enough stay around so Black and brown people feel seen.
• Shane may become a secret weapon, as he seems observant, but not making a big splash like some of the other Faithfuls.
