The Traitors: New Blood Season 1 Episode 7 Review: It’s Like Fighting Two Pigs Under a Blanket
The power of a pardon haunts this week’s Traitors. We have finally seen a good use of a cliffhanger on The Traitors: New Blood Season 1 Episode 7, “It’s Like Fighting Two Pigs Under a Blanket.” Victor has taken the star role this season.
At first, his antics made him seem like a terrible Faithful because he cast unnecessary suspicion on himself early in the season. Then he manages to skate on by until Episode 7.
However, his intense quest to prove Tomica is a Traitor made everyone look at her, and at him. She wins this battle because he gets the most votes to leave. But wait, there is more…

Alan Cumming announces the season’s biggest twist thus far: Someone won the power to pardon a player. This could be Victor’s second chance at Faithful life or the nail in his coffin.
We won’t know who won it or what they decide until the next episode. However, the anticipation is enough to make the battle between Tomica and Victor worth it. Tomica’s brief victory is fleeting because she barely escapes banishment.
Additionally, it costs her so much. Victor will reveal that he’s a Faithful (if he isn’t pardoned), which will likely cast more suspicion on her. Then we witnessed traitor-on-traitor violence with Katie casting a vote against Tomica.
That’s bound to cause some tension between the women when they’re deciding on the next murder. It’s not a good week for Tomica.
This could also lead to eyes on Joe. We’ll have to see if Victor and Fruit-Gate are what brings the Traitors down. It may just be the thing that causes these strong players to finally crash and burn.

Katie seemed like the weakest of the Traitors, but if Victor’s intense quest to get out Tomica succeeds, then Joe could be next. This would make Katie the last Traitor standing.
Tomica saying her name (by accident) may end up saving her. We only have a few more episodes left in The Traitors: New Blood Season 1, so this feels like a turning point.
This will either solidify a Traitors win or finally turn the game around in the Faithful’s favor. We’re excited about the outcome either way.
The Traitors: New Blood has been a mixed bag so far. It’s interesting enough but hasn’t completely found its spark. We turn in each week excited to see what happens, but it still drags a bit.
It focuses on one storyline without developing the storylines around it. So many Faithfuls remain, but we know so little about them and their relationships. It feels like every episode we meet someone new.

When there should be more building of a world beyond the Victor and the Traitors. Those characters are interesting enough, but the odds of them all making it to the finals are very low.
We need to start getting more familiar with those who will be around for the long haul. This is another entertaining enough episode, but we have high expectations for The Traitors. The show can and should do more.
