Slow Horses Season 6 Episode 3 Review: Slough House, Assemble!

We’re reunited with Louisa and Sid on Slow Horses Season 6 Episode 3, “Resurrection,” and it is so insanely good to see them again. 

Whenever Slow Horses switches up the pairings and explores different dynamics, it is always a fun time. There’s so much delightful banter between Louisa and Shirley and then River and Sid. It brings a much-needed dose of levity to the show. Don’t even get me started on the kid with Roddy and Lamb.

All the pairings are great in their own ways, and they are all insanely captivating and endearing. Each member of Slough House (past and present) manages to bring a smile to our faces, which is needed when the rest of the hour is about assassins trying their best to murder our slow horses.

Strange enough as it is, we’re already halfway through Slow Horses Season 6.

Time is flying by, and so far, it’s been a fantastic season. The mystery has been intriguing, and the addition of the prior slow horses is sure to keep us entertained as the back half of the season kicks off.

As for theories on who is behind this attack on Slough House, this episode gives us a couple more options.

There’s option one: someone used Sid’s alias to pull off a hit in Russia, and now these killers are here for retribution. And option two involves Diana making someone mad, and Frank was hired to clean up a mess.

Both of these could be valid. However, it doesn’t necessarily explain the Slough House of it all.

Diana could have very well sent someone to Russia using Sid’s alias, but how that ties back to Damian and Slough House is still a mystery. And while Sid believes the two killers are there for her, their scenes reveal they were targeting River and were not sure who Sid was. 

Slow Horses has proven time and time again that it understands the balance of giving us answers (or potential answers) while also maintaining the mystery. It’s thrilling to ponder one theory and how it could connect to something else, or how it is disproven by another theory.

Stray Thoughts

• Flyte moving to Slough House sucks for her, but the group will definitely benefit from her skills.
• I love that Louisa’s unexplained affluence is a callback to her stealing the diamond after Pashkin’s death on Slow Horses Season 2 Episode 6, “Old Scores.”
• How did the assassins track River and Sid at the end? Is there a tracker on one of them or something?
• I can’t wait for Roddy to be reunited with Sid and Louisa. I know he is going to say something insane to them.
• Diana telling Lamb to have his people take shelter at the Park is truly laughable.
