It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 18 Episode 2 Review: Dennis and Dee Don’t Get Rich
Never underestimate how awful Dee and Dennis can become. Before, Dee seemed like a person with a savable soul, but It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season18 Episode 2, “Dennis and Dee Do Not Get Rich,” confirms she’s just as corrupt as her twin. They try every way to go from poverty to the high life.
It doesn’t work out for them, but it leads to some more deranged shenanigans. We prefer Dennis at full psychotic capacity, but we prefer Dee with a little more of a soul. Therefore, hope this season doesn’t have her at the same level of insanity as her brother.

However, Dee and Dennis trying to “relax” and stay “calm” is one of the funniest moments in “Dennis and Dee Do Not Get Rich.” Rage Dennis is a favorite Dennis, and now enraged Dennis with an enraged Dee may surpass that.
It causes a few minutes of laughter fits. Sometimes Dennis is justified when he loses his cool. However, this time, Charlie becomes the only sane one because he’s completely right in telling them to chill out.
Season 18’s first two episodes of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia don’t center Charlie as much as the others. But his background and side quests show why he’s one of the show’s most earnest, despite some colorful behavior.
At its core, “Dennis and Dee Do Not Get Rich” is just about paying tribute to lost loved ones. Charlie with his dancing clowns and cannonball seems silly, but these things are how these men show consideration and honor for the crazy women that they love.
Charlie and Frank saying that they will miss Bonnie and Sam feels like a brief break in character, because you know they really mean that they will miss Lynne Marie Stewart.
Other shows may take a more serious approach to death, but It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia addresses it in an insane way as part of the storyline, but also in a meta way. You may think the Stewart tribute episodes will be more sentimental, but they’re as extreme and crazy as always for the show.

However, Frank and Charlie even say these are what the women would have wanted. They’re talking about Bonnie and Sam, but in a way, it feels like they’re talking about Stewart.
They know their friend wouldn’t want to change their approach just to say goodbye. It’s beauty in its madness.
The premiere episodes, especially “Dennis and Dee Do Not Get Rich,” tackle what happens next for Mrs. Mac. We don’t get a complete resolution. In fact, her story has a bit of a sinister twist.
Mac the rat strikes again and gets his uncle locked away instead of his dad. Now his mother must figure out what happens next for her. We don’t know if she will live with her insane escaped prisoner husband, or we may temporarily see Mac and Dennis get a new roommate.

Luther isn’t exactly a favorite character of mine, so not happy to see him win this one, but I am curious to see how it affects the rest of the season, if at all.
“Dennis and Dee Do Not Get Rich” is a fun episode that gives us some golden insane Dee and Dennis moments. However, the heart lies in how it tries to give a deserved send-off to one of the show’s most beloved actresses and characters. We will miss Bonnie Kelly.
