Caleb is at a crossroads on Star Trek: Starfleet Academy Season 1 Episode 9. “300th Night,” the season’s penultimate episode.
Star Trek: Starfleet Academy Season 1 started with the introduction of the history between Caleb and Captain Ake. A history that led to Caleb joining Starfleet Academy, an institution he deeply distrusts, based on a promise from Captain Ake to help him find his mom.
Now, as we race to the Season 1 conclusion, that storyline will once again be our main focus, forcing both Caleb and Nahla to make some decisions.
For Caleb, the time has come to reflect on the path he wants to take. Does he pursue the life he wanted when he started at the academy? Or has his experiences with Starfleet changed him enough to go in a new direction? He can’t keep one foot in the academy and one foot ready to bolt forever.
He will eventually need to make a choice, and in “300th Night,” he will at least start to be pushed to finally decide.
As for Nahla, she made a promise to Caleb, and it seems that to keep that promise, she will have to break the rules. That’s something she couldn’t do all those years ago when she met Caleb.
This is her chance to rectify something she regrets. The question is, at what cost to herself, the academy, or her career?
