The Rookie Season 8 Episode 12 Preview: Spy Games
With Bailey’s return, The Rookie Season 8 Episode 12, “Spy Games,” brings the increasing intrigue at the Pentagon to Los Angeles.
This episode has a lot of explaining to do because this Everett storyline kicked off on The Rookie Season 8 Episode 8, “Grand Theft Aircraft.” By the end of that episode, it seemed like the villain might become a large thorn in Tim’s side.
The Rookie Season 8 Episode 10, “His Name Was Martin,” then expanded Everett’s network all the way to the Pentagon, with Bailey investigating a tip from Grey.
Finally, The Rookie Season 8 Episode 11, “Aftermath,” brings the dangerous AI from Season 7 back into the mix to tell Nolan that Bailey could be in danger because of all of this. So, it seems like Tim isn’t on Everett’s immediate radar like it appeared he would be.
However, the promo video for “Spy Games” teases that Tim will cross paths with those involved, leading to a fight sequence that emulates the elevator sequence in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
The Rookie‘s latest episode also shows the team debriefing the sting operation, which includes Tim and Lucy riding together, Bailey going by the apt call sign “Spy Game,” and Grey and Celina running surveillance from a van.
Meanwhile, “Spy Games” will also see Wesley’s campaign hit another speed bump in the form of a public scandal that forces Wesley and Angela to face tensions in their marriage. After Glasser’s release from prison, one can only imagine what this episode has in store for them.
