Memory of a Killer Season 1 Episode 4 Review: Unhappy Ending

Reviews

Memory of a Killer Season 1 Episode 4, “Unhappy Ending,” lacks the kind of feeling and punch that one would want from a show like this one. While the ending does bring a major plot twist, up to that point, everything feels slow and forgettable.

In the moment, the show is good, and viewers enjoy the 42 minutes, but in the long run, it will be forgettable. It will simply feel like that show in which McDreamy was a hitman.

Nevertheless, there are a few things throughout the episode (and the show as a whole) that keep the audience captivated and wanting more. One of those things is the presence of Linda Grant.

Angelo is so focused on finding who shot at Maria that he forgets he has a big target on his back. Everyone he has met along the way has warned him that the Ferryman is not one to mess with.

Granted, Angelo is just as dangerous. However, because we know there are early signs of Alzheimer’s present, we know that he isn’t as sharp as he once was. In his rush and spontaneity, he is making mistakes that might land him on the wrong side of things.

Even though we can assume he was once a perfect liar, Angelo is struggling to keep up with his lies. He is rushing his decisions and giving off bits and pieces of his different lives to everyone he meets. This is bound to backfire eventually.

One of the things that makes us doubt how much he is in it is that he tells Jeff he is sorry he couldn’t put up the crib, even though there is a perfect crib right there. Did he build it and forget? Or did someone else build it for him to show they can get in every aspect of his life?

Linda Grant has so far been one of the most intriguing aspects of the show. From the moment she appeared, we started to wonder when she would catch on to Angelo.

It seems the time has arrived. Because he decides to attack the men at the warehouse on a whim, he isn’t as careful and detailed as he usually is. Moving the bodies is what probably gives him away the most.

Now, Grant has every evidence she needs to go after the killer, and after looking so deeply into Angelo on Memory of a Killer Season 1 Episode 3, “Samurai,” something tell us he will eventually become the prime suspect.

Coincidentally, Maria is guiding the cops toward her father. By going off on her own to find out where the man died, she leads Dave straight to her dad’s path, emphazising that not many people besides her family know that path exists.

Could this be Angelo’s downfall?

The biggest plot twist of the show so far comes toward the end when Angelo decides to call one of the numbers on the phone of one of the men he killed. We can certainly say that no one expected Nicky to be on the other side of the phone.

Up until this point, Nicky seemed like a vulnerable woman who had gotten mixed up with the wrong crowd. Now, we have a feeling that she is running that crowd and not simply working the nightclubs.

As Angelo discovers the truth, we wonder if he will be able to think this through and form a plan, or if his eagerness to find the Ferryman will push him to make mistakes. This is what’s making the show interesting now.
