Memory of a Killer Season 1 Episode 3 Review: Samurai
Memory of a Killer Season 1 Episode 3, “Samurai,” makes it clear that whatever happened with the scientist Angelo was supposed to kill may lead to his downfall. Something tells us that whatever Dutch claims to be covering with his cousin might be this.
However, Angelo now doubts he was ever mentioned in the Internal Affairs file. Could it be that Dutch is lying to him to keep him tied to the entire enterprise?
Whatever the case may be, Angelo needs to be worrying about the FBI agent rather than the AI cop. After all, they managed to get rid of him, but everything points toward Linda Grant sticking around and looking into Angelo more than he would like.

While it makes sense that an FBI agent is staying in town until they find the person who shot Maria, it is clear that Grant is staying as close to Angelo as possible because she suspects there is more to his story. She is amazed by his grocery choices, which leads Angelo to give her indirect information about his second life (Dutch is his chef friend).
But what truly makes viewers think that Grant is on to him is the mention of creating a whole new identity and shedding your skin. It’s as if she knew that Angelo leads a second life and has spent so much time crafting the distinction between the two.
Considering she has decided to stick around, there is a huge possibility this will not be the last time Angelo and Grant cross paths. However, we wonder if that path will lead him to prison…the one place he has been trying to escape his entire life.

Angelo isn’t the only one who continues to cross paths with the police. Maria and Dave are hanging out a lot more now that Jeff is out of town.
After the shooting, her nerves are through the roof (understandably so), and Dave is the one she turns to. Their bond has led viewers to think from the beginning that something more is going on, and Maria confirms it.
While they haven’t confirmed if they were romantically involved, Dave asks her why she came back to Hudson Springs, and she makes it clear that it wasn’t for him. This is followed by “You were married, Dave,” which makes us believe the sparks flew between them when they first met.
We can understand why Maria wants a gun and why Dave is helping her out, but why would he ever think it’s a good idea to take her to a crime scene when she is so traumatized? Did he really think it was a good idea?
What Maria has no idea is that the body she sees belongs to the man who shot her. This is when, once again, Angelo’s lives get intertwined, and we wonder if he continues to make mistakes because of the symptoms of Alzheimer’s.
Even though Angelo finds a way to explain the article Maria found in his jacket, can he find a way to explain everything that’s coming his way?

Even though we see Angelo handling the situation with the IA cop perfectly, we know his mind is still playing tricks on him. What isn’t clear yet is whether he realizes this could be Alzheimer’s or not. Does he blame it on the stress of his lives intertwining?
The fact that he calls Maria and says, “Dutch, it’s done,” should be his biggest wake-up call. If he continues to make these kinds of mistakes, everything he spent years building will be destroyed. His identities will be revealed, and Linda Grant will have more than one reason to look at him.
It all makes us wonder whether starting a relationship with Nicky is a smart move or another impulsive decision that might lead to his downfall.
