Prodigies to Star Ayo Edebiri and Will Sharpe on Apple TV+
Ayo Edebiri and Will Sharpe are set to lead Apple TV+’s new romantic comedy series, Prodigies.
The new series that promises an “unusual take on a classic” rom-com is created, written, and directed by BAFTA and SAG Award-winner Sharpe (The White Lotus).
Emmy and SAG Award winner Edebiri (The Bear) stars as Didi and Sharpe as Ren, “two ex-child prodigies who have been together since they were children.”

Prodigies finds Didi and Ren in their 30s, questioning “whether their very ordinary existence is living up to the extraordinary promise of their childhood,” per Apple TV+’s description.
Those same questions then extend to their long-term relationship, which begins to feel the pressure of their “individual hopes.” Prodigies will challenge “the fallacy at the heart of romantic storytelling — that the tale is over when the heroes get together. In life, surely, that is just the beginning?”
While there is no premiere date for the series, Apple TV+ has confirmed that it will consist of seven episodes.
Prodigies is also not the only upcoming romantic comedy series for Will Sharpe.

As previously reported in December 2023, Netflix announced that Sharpe and Megan Stalter (Hacks) would star on Too Much, a 10-episode rom-com series created by writer, director, producer, and actor Lena Dunham.
Netflix describes the series as “an ex-pat rom-com for the disillusioned who wonder if true love is still possible, but sincerely hope that it is.”
In March 2024, the streamer shared Too Much‘s ensemble: Adele Exarchopoulos, Adwoa Aboah, Andrew Rannells, Daisy Bevan, Dean-Charles Chapman, Emily Ratajkowski, Janicza Bravo, Kaori Momoi, Leo Reich, Michael Zegen, Prasanna Puwanarajah, Rhea Perlman, Richard E. Grant, Rita Wilson, and Stephen Fry.
As of reporting, there is no additional casting information for Prodigies. Sharpe executive produces the series alongside Edebiri. Jane Featherstone, Naomi De Pear, and Katie Carpenter executive produce for SISTER.
