Nobody Wants This Renewed for Season 2 at Netflix

Joanne and Noah’s love story is far from over! Netflix has renewed Nobody Wants This for a second season.

The Kristen Bell and Adam Brody-led romantic comedy series follows “the unlikely relationship between an outspoken, agnostic woman, Joanne (Bell), and an unconventional rabbi, Noah (Brody),” per its logline.

The 10-episode debut season premiered on Thursday, September 26. Nobody Wants This Season 1 Episode 10, “Mitzvah Crashers,” seemingly has Noah pass up a job promotion to be with Joanne, who ends things so he doesn’t have to pick between her and work. Now, the Netflix series will be able to detail what happens next for the couple.

Deadline exclusively reported the renewal and announced a showrunner change for the sophomore season. Creator and executive producer Erin Foster will reportedly remain Nobody Wants This‘s creative voice, while Girls‘ Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan join the series as executive producers and showrunners.

Nora Silver, President at Jenni Konner Productions, also joins the series as an executive producer. Foster, Sara Foster, Bell, Steven Levitan, Oly Obst, Danielle Stokdyk, and Jeff Morton will also executive produce Season 2.

“Creating Nobody Wants This will forever be a career highlight for me,” Foster said in a statement, per Netflix’s Tudum.

“The incredible cast, crew, producers, and executives all made this into the show it is today, and to experience viewers’ reactions to this series now that it’s out in the world has been more than anything I could have dreamed,” Foster continued.

“I’m so lucky to be able to continue this story, and to do it alongside Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan, who I’ve been such a fan of since Girls… Justice for healthy relationships being the most romantic!” Foster added.

Konner and Kaplan told Tudum that this job is a “dream.” “Erin is the rare creator with a crystal clear voice and a genuinely collaborative spirit. I am a true fan of Erin’s show and also feel so lucky to be back in a room with two of my favorites, Bruce Kaplan, and Sarah Heyward from Girls,” Konner added.

“I am excited beyond belief to be a part of Season 2 of Nobody Wants This, created by the hilarious Erin Foster. It is such a unique and beautiful show, and I am already having the best time working on it,” Kaplan shared.

Alongside Bell and Brody, Nobody Wants This stars Timothy Simons, Justine Lupe, Jackie Tohn, Paul Ben-Victor, Tovah Feldshuh, Michael Hitchcock, Stephanie Farcay, and Sherry Cola. Nobody Wants This Season 2 is expected to premiere on Netflix in 2025.
