Hysteria!: Trailer for the Upcoming Horror-Comedy Released by Peacock
All hail the prince of darkness, the trailer for Peacock’s Hysteria! is here.
The streamer released the full trailer for Hysteria! on X (formerly Twitter) with the tagline, “Happy Hollow… it’s a Hell of a town.” The trailer, also shared by TV Line, fleshes out not only the series’ concept but also its attention to dark comedy.
Peacock will stream all eight episodes of the series on Friday, October 18.

Peacock teased the horror-com series a month ago in a trailer featuring Modern Family‘s Julie Bowen as Linda Campbell in a paranormal, demonic encounter.
As seen in the new trailer, Hysteria! takes place in the radical decade of the 1980s during the Satanic Panic, which had the conservative Christian right in a veritable tizzy.
The series focuses on a suburban hamlet that finds itself in the grips of evil forces — and a band of teenagers that feed into the frenzy.
Following the mysterious disappearance of the high school quarterback, a garage metal rock band decides to capitalize on the town’s hell-ish hysteria.

That is, “until a bizarre series of murders, kidnappings, and reported ‘supernatural activity’ triggers a leather-studded witch hunt that leads directly back to them,” per the official show synopsis.
No stranger to the genre, scream screen legend Bruce Campbell makes an appearance in a guest starring role in the expanded trailer.
At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Campbell told USA Network about what attracted him to the Peacock original series:
It’s a small town in rural Michigan, my home state, set in the late ’80s and I play the chief of police, Chief Dandridge. And what I like about it, the words are what got me. These days, if someone says, ‘Hey Bruce, here’s a new horror show you could be part of.’ I’m like, ‘Okay, let’s see how good the words are.’ Because it could be a piece of el crappo. So, the words were very good. They created a very rich character and a rich environment in this town.

Also from the Great Lakes State is Hysteria!‘s creator, Matthew Scott Kane.
Joining Bowen and Campbell are cast members that include Emjay Anthony (Krampus), Anna Camp (True Blood), Jessica Treska, Milly Shapiro (Hereditary), Chiara Aurelia, and Kezii Curtis.
The series is produced by Matthew Scott Kane, David Goodman, John Francis Daley, Jonathan Goldstein, Chris Bender, Jake Weiner, and Studio UCP. Matthew Scott Kane and David Goodman serve as writers and executive producers.
