Hysteria! Teaser Trailer Brings the Supernatural to the 1980s Suburbs
Peacock’s coming-of-age thriller Hysteria! brings the supernatural to the 1980s suburbs in the latest teaser.
Starring Modern Family‘s Julie Bowen, the new series will stream all eight episodes of its debut season on Friday, October 18, on Peacock, per TV Line.
Hysteria! follows “a struggling high school heavy metal band of outcasts realize they can capitalize on the town’s sudden interest in the occult by building a reputation as a Satanic metal band,” per the show’s synopsis.

The band does so after “a beloved varsity quarterback disappears during the “Satanic Panic” of the late 1980s.” Their plan goes awry when “a bizarre series of murders, kidnappings, and reported “supernatural activity” triggers a leather-studded witch hunt that leads directly back to them.”
The teaser trailer sees Bowen as Linda Campbell, “the mother of a teenage outcast who experiences a series of supernatural disturbances that force her to question everything she knows about her son, as well as the growing threat of Satanism in their small Midwestern town.”
Set to Belinda Carlisle’s “Heaven Is a Place on Earth,” the first look at Hysteria! sees a disturbing apparition in the microwave ruin Linda’s suburban haven in Happy Hallow, a “great town” with “even better people.”
Hysteria! also stars Anna Camp, Emjay Anthony, Chiara Aurelia, Kezii Curtis, and Nikki Hahn. The show will also feature “special guest star” Bruce Campbell.

The Hollywood Reporter shares that Hysteria! will air the series premiere on USA Network and Syfy on October 18, and USA will continue airing subsequent episodes weekly.
The drama series comes from Matthew Scott Kane, David Goodman, John Francis Daley, Jonathan Goldstein, Chris Bender, Jake Weiner, and Studio UCP. Matthew Scott Kane and David Goodman serve as writers and executive producers.
Hysteria!‘s other executive producers include John Francis Daley & Jonathan Goldstein and Chris Bender & Jake Weiner for Good Fear Content. Scott Stoops serves as the supervising producer for Good Fear. Jordan Vogt-Roberts will direct and serve as an executive producer for the first episode.
